    Was in NYC over Christmas. Had googled restaurants open near Rockefeller Center on Christmas. Reserved 2 at Mastros! Location was 7 min from our hotel. Stunning ambience, food was superb (best swordfish I've had in a long time) Purple waiter, Ronnie was exceptional. He graciously took a photo of us! Would go back in a NY minute!

    Hostess was not particularly welcoming and in fact quite rude. She questioned my adult son’s dress pants despite the fact they were designer pants, not track pants. We were seated at a very uncomfortable high top table very near the bar and wait station. We were bumped and knocked by staff throughout our dinner. Not a good experience at all especially given the very high price of the meal. Very disappointed and will not return. The stairs leading to the basement needed a good cleaning as well. We expected more from Mastros.

    Always a terrific experience at Mastro’s NYC Great ambiance , and service. Food is always outstanding. A great Christmas lunch/dinner. French onion soup awesome, bone in filet 18oz was cooked to perfection with a few sides and to top it all off, the butter cake. The best dessert around! Wonderful with the fresh whipped cream and all of the other accessories. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Prices are what you would expect from a high end NYC steakhouse but well worth it

    This was a holiday experience worth having on Christmas Eve. This was also the first time my guest got to experience this lovely restaurant. The calamari was an amazing starter along with the bone marrow, the cappers were a nice touch. The main dishes were able to be taken home as the large portions are a plus. The pork chops & the porterhouse steak were so delicious. The drinks were also on point as the mojito had a nice mint flavor to it. Thanks again for having us & I plan to return again. Merry Xmas

    So delicious and the staff was amazing! Loved the singing pianist! She played current songs and did such a great job creating a fun yet cozy and classy vibe! Would definitely go back!

    Food was disgusting. Kitchen staff do not know how to cook steaks to the correct tempt. The garlic mash was VERY bland it didn’t even taste like there was any garlic in it. The lobster Mac and cheese was also watery.

    All was great until I received the small filet. It was cooked rare instead of medium and it had some tough membrane in it. Not good. I can cook a much better filet mignon at home and it won’t cost near as much. The service was awesome as was the seared big eye tuna and French onion soup.
