   Our server, Jean-Michel, was friendly and knowledgeable. The Maître d' was also welcoming and joyful ! The ambiance, the food, the portions and the interior design --- ALL A "CLASS ACT" ! Don't get to Santa Monica much and this was a very pleasant surprise ! Joyeux Noël and Bonne Année (almost) !

   Food was fantastic I had the brussel sprout salad and the morel pasta with cream sauce. Outstanding!! The service was also great. Jonathan was very attentive and gave great recommendations. A great meal! 5 stars

   We absolutely loved our recent date night—The food was superb, we shared the lamb shank, king prawns & their new pear, raspberries with whipped cream dessert—from the ambience, to the warm & welcoming service, everything was perfect! Delicious food & memorable ambience, definitely going back!

   Massilia has a unique menu inspired by the Mediterranean cooking in the South of France. It's Moroccan dishes are excellent, as are the seafood. I sat at the bar and the service is generally friendly and efficient. I recommend Massilia to those visiting the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade and looking for a solid European dinning experience.

   Our waitress was very nice but spread thin. We shared several dishes as we wanted to get an overall experience. One of the appetizers included clams. A couple of them were not opened which usually happens when they are dead prior to cooking. It is not advisable to eat a clam which has stayed closed. Another pasta dish came with again, some closed clams. I sent it back and the “chef” was informed of my expectations as it is unhealthy to eat clams which are prepared this way. The dish came back and all clams were properly cooked. The general flavors were underwhelming and a disappointment as the restaurant was a nice environment and we were seated on a very comfortable sofa for dining. My friend ordered a non-alcoholic drink and was told they were out of the ingredients. The server did not offer any alternatives. With so many options in Santa Monica, I suspect this one will not become a regular spot for me.

   We were seated outside even though I made a reservation 2 weeks ago. Not ideal as it was cold even though there were heaters. Good part was that it was not as noisy as inside. Food was good. We would go ag.

    I was so impressed with the staff at Massilia. The host, Mossimo, and our waiter, Jean-Michel, were amazing. Jean-Michel went out of his way to make our night special, and we will definitely be back. I haven't had service that good in a long while. The food was very good, and the ambiance was great. I would recommend it to a friend.
