Mother’s Day was a great success thanks to attentive service and delicious food. We arrived early and were the only table in the side room. However, it soon filled up and locals and with Lebanese families (always a good sign of authenticity). The starters were plentiful and fresh especially the Fattoush salad and overall good value for money. I would’ve liked bit of music or softened the decor somehow. The pub is in an upstanding Victorian building with its original features.

Although in a beautiful setting, there were very few people there. Initially, I thought I was because it was mid week. Based on my experience, the lack of clients probably reflects the general standard of the restaurant. The service was indifferent, basic dishes were off the menu, such as chicken Shawarma, and the lamb tasted like dried out reheated mutton.

We left after our starters, which were decent, as they had a full on party going on in one of the main rooms and we could not hear ourselves talk. They said it would be over after half an hour they went on for awhile. They should’ve made guess the way when they’re booking that we have a party on that would be very very noisy.

Was very excited to try Maroush but I was utterly disappointed with the food. Tasteless, and very low quality ingredients, especially the meat. You can do better and you should do better.

CROCKER’S FOLLY ( MAROUSH) ambience was excellent. The architecture is worthy of mention. Service was excellent. Food: The selection of Mezze was very good. The main course — shish touk was good. The mixed grill is not recommended, it was dry and overcooked. RD ( Please do not give the full name of the Diner)
