Margaret is a neighbourhood restaurant at its core, but it’s also evolved into something more than that. It’s about comfort, generosity, and cosiness.
At Margaret, we work with the best quality produce that Australia has to offer. Chef Neil Perry AM has spent years developing relationships with some of the best suppliers in the country. We are predominantly a seafood restaurant and are very fortunate to receive our seafood direct from our fishermen, caught sustainably and dry filleted here onsite at Margaret, so we can ensure that all that love and care our wonderful fisherman have taken is seen all the way through.     Unfortunately it didn’t meet the hype. A number of friends had recommended this place and the reviews were good. The service was very good and the menu was quite extensive. This surprised me that they would have so many choices. We started with the scallop crudo and crab Thai salad. The scallop dish was very nice. The dressing on the crab salad was an amazing flavor however it over powered the delicate crab. For mains we had the king George whiting and the veal rump. Whilst they were perfectly cooked they weren’t anything special. So sadly it just wasn’t the experience we were hoping for.

    Celebrating our sister’s 60th birthday with family and friends at Margaret was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make the day special. The food was incredible - and a lot of it! And the service was friendly and flawless. It was a perfect way to mark this milestone birthday. I cannot recommend Margaret enough for any special occasion. Thank you to all at Margaret for making this day extraordinary!

    I do enjoyed our lunch today. Celebrating our 18th anniversary. My husband had the veal - must say I had food envy. And it was delicious!! My red emperor was great and the sides of green beans with lemon and corn puree with sheep’s yoghurt was amazing as was the sugar-loaf cabbage. The special touch of a chocolate desert to celebrate was amazing a thank you Sam!

    Margaret is by far my favourite restaurant. My husband and I are locals and are frequent diners there. The food is spectacular, the service is incredible and we just love Neil Perry!

    The quality of food was outstanding, and with generous quantities too. Staff were excellent; friendly, attentive and always willing to help with any request. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

    Hi Beautiful everything Starters came along and they’re delicious wine wasn’t Ordered lamb so I asked to have a red and the wine list and sommelier was suggested, I said no please bring wine list as I knew the food was coming in quickly The food comes and I ordered the Nebbiolo A glass comes out ten minutes later and then waiter comes back as I’m about to drink it and says that’s not mine…I’ve already eaten 1 & 1/2 chops at this stage Wine comes ten minutes after I’ve finished Really unsatisfactory and I couldn’t be bothered for dessert with this

    Great service throughout and fantastic meal. Highlights were the spicy Korean style tartare and the blue eye trevalla with mango, lime and crispy shallot salad, but all dishes were lovely. Highly recommend
