   Amazing, modern, elevated Puerto Rican food. Tucked away off the strip, with no sign, easy to find or easy to stay hidden! Staff is fantastic. We were very late to our reservation & they still made space for us. Small 14 seat restaurant, with views of the kitchen & the talented bartenders. The dishes are larger than tapas, 3 or 4 plates are good per person. They also have antioxidant "mocktails" which I thought was vert nice. Knowledgeable staff, you can tell they really value the ingredients & care about the plates. Passionate about food. We started with the device, which for me was the best dish of the meal. Really fresh grouper, & the escabeche was perfect! Something buttery & less acidic about it. Served in a cocoa pod, with edible florals on top.It was really a great dish. We also had the alcapurria. Jueyes are my favorite in PR. & their alcapurria was light, & had great flavor, with curry & fried oyster mushrooms. My second favorite dish was the fish chicharrones. Again, very light batter & oil, perfect! The presentation was fun, the curry aoili was in a dried rambutan shell & resembled a quail egg on top. There was a chopped cucumber salad on top as well. We also ordered the bistec, lightly breaded & fried, with a poached egg on top, & starfruit vinegarette. This was my partners favorite dish of the night. We had the sticky rice & flan for dessert. Both were delicious. This place is really special! A must try in the metro area.

   Food is exceptional (we’ve tried 90% of the menu) and prices are just perfect. We’ve visited Manzana de Java twice and will gladly visit again. 100/10

   Excelente en todo! Nos trataron espectacular,!nos explicaron el concepto de el restaurante, el menú y cada plato y bebida que ordenamos. El sabor riquísimo y todo estuvo delicioso. Los cocteles nos encantaron al igual que las infusiones. Gracias al Chef y al equipo porque salimos con el estómago lleno de rica comida. Nos fuimos con mente de regresar pronto.

   Randomly found this place when looking for somewhere to go. The waitress said that they are a speak easy tapas style Restaurant and was very surprised we found them. Food was great and culturally towards Puerto Rico as well as being very unique! Was surprised they charged us for tap water but otherwise great place to while in San Juan! Definitely suggest the pork shoulder!
