   From the moment we approached the host desk to our exit it was just a relaxing and memorable experience. The hostess greeted us with a very pleasant smile, she had a sweet personality and a quick kind wit. The location of our table could not have been more perfect. The sunset was that evening was spectacular and as former divers, we got to view to boats on night dives in search of rays. We started with the baby romaine salad which was crisp and flavorful and shared the rib eye. Truly, it was one of the best steaks we have ever had. It was cooked to perfection at a temperature we requested and sliced in the kitchen for us. Aside from the above our absolutely delightful server Jessica helped to make this the best meal of our vacation.

   Service was horrific , waited 40 min for some drawn butter for our seafood tower, asked no less than 4 people for it and kept being told the chef was working on it. It’s melted butter , how long can that take? Our waitress spoke in one to two word sentences then would disappear for 20 min. Eventually the manager and other waiters came to help so felt like we didn’t know who to ask to order etc and our mains didn’t get put in while we waited for the butter. they took 30$ off our 500+$ bill for our inconvenience when we said we wanted to leave . Good food but overall horrible service. The manager was very nice and did try to help but something was very off here, maybe it was just our server who was bad as everyone else seemed like they were trying. They didn’t seem under staffed. Wonderful ambiance if you get your food, but for 185$ a seafood “tower” should have more food and multiple tiers imo. I’d go back to hopefully have a better experience as the food was good. Request a table outside.

   Absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family by Kiley, the General Manager. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was nothing short of spectacular, each dish so fresh & full of fresh flavors. It’s clear that this restaurant takes pride in both the quality of its food and the care it provides to its guests. We felt truly special and can’t wait to come back.    Awful server, long wait to be greeter, lack knowledge about food and wine, had to ask a couple times for items. Food unique with fresh items but on the bland side and bread was stale. I asked to speak to manager and no showed up. Location. lovely and special, too bad service did not meet our t expectations and outrageous price.

   This week we celebrated my wife and her birthday at Manta at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. F&B GM Kiley Nakagawa was kind enough to help us with securing the reservations and when we arrived, was warmly greeted and welcomed by Mr. Nakagawa himself who sat us in the perfect location, with views of the bay and mantas and the most perfect sunset. As vegetarian/vegan with diet restrictions, eating out and finding menus with good vegetarian and vegan options is alway tricky, but Kiley and our server Maka, shared with us their favorites and let us know right away that everything on the menu could be made vegetarian and even vegan with the freshest ingredients right from their very own on-property garden. My wife is pescatarian so her options are always a little easier. We decided to leave our starters and entree choices up to the chef. They started us on bread and offered an amazing coconut oil vegan butter and then from the menu, Chef Peter sent out the Kombucha ravioli appetizer, kale salad with a apple banana dressing. My wife had the most perfectly cooked seafood tower and chef sent out for me a veggie platter with a spicy middle eastern sauce that was amazing; all ingredients from their garden. The chocolate soufflé and a goat cheesecake with fresh fruit was recommended and amazing. From the moment we were greeted until the end of our night, the Manta Experience; service, ambiance and all the flavors of our meal; met all of our culinary expectations. We recommend dining here to everyone for all family occasions or couples date nights, locals and visitors…the Manta experience is one that doesn’t disappoint! The menu selections carry a high price but well worth it. Five stars across the board. Highly recommended! We will be back!

   What an absolutely stunning experience, the hotel has an old lux charm , with attentive white lotus vibes staff. The restaurant is magical to watch the sunset, with great food and drinks, and then stroll down to see the manta rays feed. 10/10
