    Great experience as usual. Our server, Kat, was outstanding! We came during happy hour, so had that menu. Good value. Only mild complaint was that they didn’t have Chardonnay on the happy hour menu. Food was excellent. Already made reservations for later in week.

    Mala has always been one of our favorite restaurants on Maui. Last night was a horrible experience. My husband's cocktail tasted 'off' and he asked for another. The server in so many words didn't offer a new drink and asked if my husband wanted to 'try it again'. This is a drink my husband drinks normally and he knows how it should taste. To not offer to simply remake the drink was ridiculous. The waiter rushed us and walked off to get us an appetizer we didn't order. We had no time to enjoy our cocktail before menus were set in front of us and we were pushed to make decisions about dinner. We no sooner had our meal placed in front of us than the server returned to ask us about dessert. In the end, we were out of the restaurant in less than an hour and did not enjoy our dinner, rather we got angrier and angrier the longer we sat there. John & Kandace M.

    We have dined at Mala numerous times over the years and always enjoyed the experience. The friendly staff, great food and welcoming atmosphere brought us back time after time. We noticed a change last year and brushed it OGG as they had just opened after the devastating fire but the level of service and welcoming atmosphere seems gone. Trying to enjoy our anniversary with our kids that had flown it was a hurried and unrelaxing evening. A hurry to order and food delivered before we were finished with our appetizers made us feel anything but welcome. I get the table turnover thing but we felt rushed which is not enjoyable Food was good but the noise level was loud. There are many new restaurants opening up so we will explore this options as we most likely will not return to Mala for a while

    A wonderful evening in a beautiful setting. Our waiter Carlos and the hostess were awesome. The food was as delicious as we remembered from our last visit.
