The dining room at the Grand Canyon North Rim lodge is more about the views rather than the food (at least for me). The food was average for the price paid. Admittedly, I was there for the very last meal of the 2024 season, so understandably there were some things they were out of. Service, however, was top notch ( I think the staff were excited to finish off the season). If you go, reference the Internet to find out when sunset will be for that day and reserve your seat about a half an hour prior. I did exactly this and the sunset was amazing!

Service was good and you can’t beat the view. We ordered half a chicken and got two dried out legs. We also ordered the flank steak which arrived tough and overdone. We’ll go again for the ambiance but not the food.

I was able to get 8:39 reservations via OpenTable after checking for months of no availability. I inquired via Open Table app if we could get earlier sitting if available and also via text when confirming or reservation. No replies. We walked into the great hall of Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim to check in for our cabin at 3:45pm. It is massive and the views are spectacular. We noticed the great dining room to the right and 5 tables were set and appeared available. We asked if there were any cancellations, could we possibly be able to get a table. The seated matre’d couldn’t be bothered. He instinctively said they were fully booked. I said, yes I know, we were only able to get reservations for 8:30, are there perhaps any cancellations for an earlier time? No, was his only reply. We came back at 6:00 to take in the views from the Great Room and surrounding outdoor areas. The same 5 tables were still empty, made another inquiry to see if we could get earlier seating. Without turning around to see the still empty tables, sorry we’re fully booked. We go back at 8:15 to check in, the same 5 tables are set and empty. He shouted for us promptly at 8:30 and took us to one of the empty tables. Our server was friendly and outgoing. We noticed everyone at other tables had bread baskets. We asked the person that brought out dinners for bread. She replied, you need to ask your server or one of the guys busing. Dinner was delicious. My husband had pasta with colorful assortment of vegetables. I had half roasted half chicken on generous bed of wild rice. The roasted vegetables consisted of only a half of a red pepper. They have a nice assortment of wines. We were there on 10/14, one day prior season closing. Overall, we did not feel welcomed there. I guess they were ready to leave.

It was a nice experience, not great. I had chicken, it was cold. The rice served with it was cold. My wife ordered the Pork Chop. She did not receive a pork chop, she received a piece of a pork chop. Garlic mashed potatoes were listed, she got scalloped potatoes. Roasted vegtables were listed, she got one piece of brocoley. The rolls werent fresh, they were ok but not fresh and not warm..... I know you're a long way out and food can run out but the customer should be told. There is no excuse for cold food. I know it was the end of the season when I was there but the quality of service should stay consistent...... I'm not picky, I ate my meal, I always make the best of things but you asked, so I shared my thoughts.

We had a great experience and server. We booked at sunset and the window view was amazing. It was the 2nd to last night before they closed, but the service was still quick and very well done even with fewer staff. The food was good and we liked the options on the menu.

Our server came by a good number of times even though the dining room was full. We appreciated the ice cold water carafe on the table, as on all tables. The trout meal with wild rice and broccolini was excellent and large portions. My husband said his pork chop meal was okay. My son really enjoyed the kids chicken tenders. The warm banana caramel bread pudding garnished with real whipped cream was fantastic. We all shared the dessert.

Ordered 3 steaks and one Salmon meal, 2 out of three steaks were not cooked as requested. The Salmon was way over cooked and very dry. You would think if you want to charge the prices you are asking, the chef could cook each dish to order. I also ordered an 18.00 glass of Austin Hope Cab and we drink a couple of bottles a month so we know the great taste. The glass that was served me tasted like it had been sitting in the bottle for more than a couple of days. The server really was not too interested in if our meals were satisfactory, as he just seemed to go through the motions. Had dinner with you same time last year and it was fantastic. This year NOT SO MUCH!

The north rim Lodge was extremely enjoyable. There is no other place to eat, but still they knock it out of the park without having any competition. Had a table for four and everyone of us had something different. From pasta to steaks to risotto and vegetables. Was great ! The views of the canyon in the sunset are more than words can describe. Truly a priceless experience.

The only reason this place continues to booked up is because of the location and lack of options. To put it mildly, it was very disappointing. We order the pork chop and flank steak. While eatable, it was not worth the $70 bill. (Please know this is not about the price but rather value). While staying at the north rim in the future, make yourself a sandwich and sit on the terrace. Even a pb&j would be better.
