   I’ve been waiting to try Maialina and it was fantastic! Our table tried: nonna’s meatballs, Parmesan garlic bread, calamari, Caesar salad, arugula with lemon vinaigrette, rigatoni rustica, cacio e pepe, and salmon. All outstanding and delicious!!!! We will be back again!

   We had tried this restaurant out for our Valentine’s Day dinner and was pleasantly surprised by its fairly quiet atmosphere. We walked in and every table was full but the noise level was pretty low. We were seated immediately and we started with an order of the garlic bread for an appetizer which was delicious. I ordered the cacio de pepe with shrimp while my boyfriend ordered the chicken parmesan with a side of roasted potatoes. My meal was ok, it looked as advertised but the fresh peppercorns were a little too strong for me. The shrimp that was added tasted pretty good, they give you 5 jumbo shrimp for an $8 additional cost. My boyfriend said his chicken parm and potatoes were about average but were lacking seasoning which would’ve really made the dish stand out. Overall our experience was pleasant and we may go back in the future to try new things.

   This is now our go to for Italian. Food is great and there is good selection of different dishes and appetizers. In my opinion you get a good amount of food for the price you pay. I highly recommend this place.

   Loved the food and service. However, my mother was in a scooter from a recent foot surgery and we did struggle to get her into the restaurant d/t unlevel concrete. That would be my only complaint.

   Our waiter was attentive and apologetic that things were going slow and off timed (our main course came out at different times). It was really loud. My SO and I struggled to hear one another at the same table which kind of takes away from date night and didn’t match the nice setting. They have tables as close to the door as possible so if there’s anyone waiting for the hostess you basically have a cold breeze and people waiting up against your table. The food was just ok and honestly I wouldn’t choose this Italian place again when presented with some of the other options in Indy. If we were meeting for drinks and appetizers then maybe it would be different but for date night dinner or bringing people from out of town it’s just meh.

   We live in FSQ and have been meaning to try Maialina for awhile now. We went for Devour Indy. The food options on the Devour menu were all delicious. It was rustic, homestyle Italian cuisine, but with some modern twists. Think cannoli cake - an icebox cake with all the flavors of a traditional cannoli. Very excited to return and explore the rest of the menu. The seasonal cocktails were delightful. The wine menu has a great section of Italian wines, which are so often underrepresented in most Indy-area restaurants. The service was a little lackluster, but in fairness, it was a busy Saturday night, during Devour-season, and most restaurants (and the service industry in general) these days are experiencing similar issues. We won’t hold that against them. 100% will return. Would recommend Maialina to anyone looking for non-steakhouse fare and/looking to expand out of the typical Mile Square selections.

    This was our first visit. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Food and service was good. We had the meatballs, caesar salad, chicken parm, shrimp primavera, and canoli cake. Everything we ordered was delicious. The ambience was just so-so. We went on a Saturday evening during prime dinner hours. It was very loud. l definitely would not recommend this place for a first date or for any occasion in which you want to have a conversation with your dinner guests. Overall it was good. If you’re in the area give them a try. Just don’t expect a quiet, romantic dinner.
