Magpie is a family owned and operated independent restaurant in Midtown Sacramento. Since 2005, Magpie has served farm to table fare that reflects the values of life in California’s Central Valley. Our menu has an interesting mix of dishes highlighting the season's best offerings of share plates, bites, and entree's.

We are more committed than ever to our mission of celebrating what makes our city and region special, and contributing to it by making seasonal, farm-to-table food in Sacramento.

We are walking distance from California's state capitol building and convention center on the corner of 16th and P Streets overlooking the beautiful tree filled Fremont Park. The lively restaurant space features artwork and murals from local artists with bar, booth and table seating. The open patio has a variety of tall and low tables surrounded by live edge wooden benches and Magpie's iconic yellow umbrellas.

The gnocchi was excellent, their bread is so delicious. We got it with the hummus, crunchy texture in the outside…still soft on the inside. Really enjoyed the crunchy quinoa in the farm salad.

Food was delicious especially the hummus plate, pork belly and squash. Our server was great in helping us decide and very attentive. I wish there was a better wine by the glass and dessert selection. We will definitely be back for another date night.

This is an amazing place to eat for lighter all the way to heavier bites. Magpie has great flavors and it’s always a pleasant experience. Great service as well.

We got the dine downtown dinner and tried everything except the pasta. The steelhead was cooked perfectly and all of the dishes were beautiful and fresh. The two cocktails we tried were creative and seasonal. Magpie is consistently fantastic!
