The most amazing, submersible experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The staff treated my party wonderfully and made my birthday extra special this year. I would go back any day!♥️

Things were okay up until we were waiting for quite some time for our entree. We had long had our starter and bread. The server finally came over and said they had run out of the filet. Huh? We should have had our meals at this point not told they ran out of a menu item, at a steakhouse. So we substituted for the New York. From there we waited for another good while, long enough that the server came by to apologize and say ours was expedited and the manager would be by. We then watched another table get served. We were so hungry at this point. 2 1/2 hours total went by from the time we sat down to the time our entree was served. The worst service we have ever had at a restaurant. The steaks were bland and not cooked to order. The manager did comp our meal and offered a free cocktail, but this was really quite bad.

TL;DR this is a wonderful Southern California landmark. Our table had a wonderful time enjoying Howie the Crooner sing jazz standards by the fire. To ensure you have the best experience, plan to spend about 2-3 hours for a meal start to finish. The kitchen & bar were incredibly slow, BUT our server was very attentive and apologetic. When it finally arrived, or dinner was excellent and some of the best filet we’ve had. The only anomaly was that the table bread was raw in the center. Other than that we had a wonderful time and will be back again soon.

First time back since they remodeled. Nice place, service was very slow in getting our drink, and meal. Filet was good, but served over mashed potatoes, so cancelled potato, which I would of liked. Caseear salad was huge, had to cut up yourself, not great.

This was my first visit to the Magic Lamp, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! 🌟 The service was absolutely 5-star, and the Manager, Ana, went above and beyond to make our evening special. We started with the mac and cheese and sautéed mushrooms as appetizers—both were absolutely superb, bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. For the main course, my wife and I enjoyed the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The ambience is just as impressive as the food! With live music setting the tone, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and inviting. Overall, this was a top-notch dining experience, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for a memorable night out! 🎶🍷🍴

Reword: I have been going to the Magic Lamp for many years and was exited about the reopening. Bus person was exceptional, server was slow and aloof especially for a Wednesday night when they weren’t that busy. Sea bass was fine, NY Steak was warm and over cooked. Everything moved too slow, 3 hour experience. Not a great first impression after reopening. Hopefully it will get better.
