   We are HUGE M Sushi fans so the Test Kitchen has been on our short list to try. After the first appetizer we should have left… it was awful. The tuna was sooo fishy it almost tasted spoiled. Each course that came, we ordered 8 items they were equally awful. We found ourselves chugging water with each bite to be polite to the kitchen. Each course looked beautiful but all were disappointing. This felt very off brand for M as we think they are the best sushi in NC. We will not be back. To save the night we went to Crawford for a second . dinner.

   Usually love this place but the 5 course omakase they did for valentines was a miss.

   We enjoyed an incredible valentine's day omakase menu. The flavors of each dish were well balanced with contrasting textures. I'm not a big fan of sorbet, but the Kiwi sorbet that we had last night was insanely good. Unfortunately the dishes were served too fast last night. We had all 5 courses and drinks in just under 1 hour. That wasn't our experience in the past when we dined here, so we don't expect it's a usual occurrence. We can't wait to return to M Test Kitchen for our next date night.

   Great experience as always. Connor, the chef, was awesome as always. Had some of our favorite dishes, such as the gem salad, the lobster shumai, and denver steak. Will miss Connor here, but he promised the food and service will continue to be top notch.

   The food was unique, but not our favorite. Sitting at the bar while there were open tables was frustrating. I get the concept, but it’s not my favorite place to go.

   Group of six and we were excited to try this restaurant as the menu seemed innovative with Asian fusion flavors. We ordered the following: 1. Caviar with seaweed ice cream - it was alright mixing the creamy salty with creamy sweetness. Was not amazing. The flavors were off. 2. The duck breast- du k breast cooked to perfection (medium), but the duck sauce was missing a salty note. 3. Lobster shumai- worst of them all…. Bland and no lobster chunks, so it could had been anything blended into a paste. 4. Broccolini- delicious, right amount of crunch and lived the garlic chips. 5. Xo crab Fried rice- too dried and honestly, did not taste any crabs 6. Tarot Tots- delicious- crunch and flavorful. The heat made the Bonita flakes moved, which was a cool presentation 7. Lemon pepper steak- was alright. Steak cooked to medium which was good. Medium rare would have been better. 8. Dish with green curry bamboo- was ok- lacked exciting flavors. Overall, wasn’t good, wasn’t bad. Would not go back.

    I don’t know what they did to the vegetables be beneath the Denver steak, but they were the tastiest veggies I have had in my life. Overall amazing experience!
