Luke is a Creole-inspired Brasserie located in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District on world-famous St. Charles Avenue, steps from the French Quarter neighborhood. A lively atmosphere surrounds the raw bar offering the freshest seafood and oysters procured daily from the Gulf of Mexico.                                                                         Had the Reveillon dinner on Christmas day, and loved every bite! I was also very impressed with the service-- they handled a busy crowd amazingly well. Kudos! Definitely will be back next time I am in NOLA.

                                                                        We (7 of us) ate at Luke on Christmas Day. We were seated near the door which wasn’t ideal but wasn’t bad. The streetcar periodically going by made the noise level high because of our proximity to the door. The service was excellent in spite of it being a holiday and the restaurant being packed. The menu had nice variety. The two best items we had were the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Matzo Ball Soup. The worst thing we had was the Hanger Steak. It was ordered “medium” and came out bleeding. It was also rubbery. We returned it and that person ordered something else. They were completely okay with this and removed it from the bill. The Trout Almandine was good with the fish being extremely fresh. We recommend Luke and will return.

                                                                        Un restaurant servant une cuisine de bonne qualité juste hors du quartier français de la Nouvelle Orléans. Dîner du réveillon de Noël. Une table calme et une serveuse aux petits soins. Rien à dire : un bon repas.

                                                                        As it was a holiday, I’m not sure our experience is a good representation of their regular operations. However, we had incredibly slow service. We had two servers who were doing their absolute best but had over 10 tables to take care of on top of rolling silverware and stocking appetizer plates. There were only two bartenders so cocktails took 15 minutes to receive. My broccolini was wildly over-seasoned and our steak frites were disappointing. Great meat but the fries were so basic and cold for a dish that costs $38. Overall it was okay but I really expected more from what I’d read prior to booking this spot for Christmas Eve.

                                                                        Experience was excellent upon arrival. Appetizers were over the top and timely. 2nd course was delivered 30min. after removing the Appetizers. The soup was cool and the seafood gumbo was horrible for a LA. restaurant. Both were comped but the delay, topped with unappealing soup, created negative emotions. The entree saved the night - the presentation, temperature and taste were superior. The fish dishes were wonderfully aromatic, fresh and delicious followed by a creative dessert allowed our Christmas Eve dinner to be saved and, allowed us to highly recommend Luke's for any special occasion.
