   My Review of Locanda Positano, Lafayette As a devoted fan of Neapolitan cuisine, I recently had the pleasure of dining @ Locanda Positano in Lafayette, & I can confidently say that it checks all my boxes for an authentic Neapolitan experience. My preference for Neapolitan restaurants stems from their focus on the vibrant flavors of southern Italy, where pasta, tomato sauce, seafood, & fresh vegetables take center stage. From the moment I stepped into Locanda Positano, I was welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a cozy trattoria in Naples. The staff, with their Neapolitan charm, immediately made me feel like part of the family. Their passion for the cuisine was palpable, and it set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. The menu is a delightful celebration of southern Italian flavors, featuring an array of dishes that highlight the best of Neapolitan cooking. I was particularly impressed by the selection of pasta, which is made fresh daily. The rich, flavorful tomato sauces and perfectly cooked seafood showcased the essence of what Neapolitan cuisine is all about.    The food was delicious. We enjoyed the Diavola pizza, which was different than any pizza we ever had. The pasta special was also fantastic. The service was awesome. The main dining room and bar area were nice, but the restaurant felt disconnected with the different dining rooms which were empty on our visit there. Otherwise, we will be back for some great Southern Italian food.

   Had a great meal. The fresh pasta was outstanding, best I’ve had since Prima closed in Walnut Creek. Service was friendly and attentive. Look forward to returning.

   Very good Frito misto appetizer. Excellent short ribs. The Dungeness crab fettuccini tasted a little like it came from a can or frozen -s o a disappointment. Excellent Tiramisu desert and focaccia bread served with olive tapenade and olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

    The food was very good. Flavorful and authentic. Our table had the lasagna, sea bass and pasta with Italian sausage, mushroom and peas. Everyone was satisfied. The frito Misto was great as well. I did not like that they charged for bread (focaccia and Kalamata olive spread). I’m thankful we got a seat inside the resturant. They have large enclosed outdoor dining areas with heat lamps and blankets. But it was too cold this particular evening to even consider eating outside! However, I look forward to dining here again.
