The cocktails were a good price and the menu was relatively large, but I personally found it a bit disappointing. Most drinks were just very sweet and fruity with nothing that was really standout - I'm the type to go for anything weird or fun in a cocktail, like carrot juice or bell pepper. And there was nothing super inventive like that. However, they were happy to make whatever you wanted, which was great. Points for taking reservations, which was much appreciated for our group of 9.
They had a DJ and the music was pretty loud, which made you want to dance.... But there was no where to dance, which was a bit disappointing if I'm honest. It's not the loudest bar I've been in, but you did have to kind of yell to talk to people who weren't directly next to you. Again, just personal taste, I'm not looking for a clubby atmosphere where you can't dance - I was looking to have a good time chatting with friends, which was a bit difficult to do given the volume.
Overall, it was a much younger vibe (my group were all in their 30s to early 40s). If you're looking for an energetic (aka loud) atmosphere with cheap (for Oxford) fruity cocktails, this place is definitely for you, and that's why I've not given it terrible reviews - this place could be great for certain people, just not me. Personally, I think I will stick with the cocktail bar next door that is quiet, has inventive cocktails, and has table service with complimentary cucumber water.
