This Crouch End gem is a real find. They have what looks like a giant Breaking Bad type chemistry set in the bar where they make their own blood orange infused tequila. The small plates of food to accompany their fantastic cocktails are imaginative and delicious. They have a way with flavours more redolent of a fine dining establishment but within the confines of a small and buzzy neighbourhood cocktail bar. One worth travelling to even if it's not on your doorstep.

This was my first visit to Little Mercies and it was absolutely spectacular. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the service was brilliant. Cocktails sensational, and the food was unbelievably good,I honestly think that the beetroot was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I don’t live anywhere near to this restaurant but feel like I would go out of my way to go back again.

Always great in there although we were sat by the toilets and the door kept swinging into our table, there should really be a spring or stopper as a few people nearly banged it on our table. Food was excellent and so are drinks

I recently visited Little Mercies in Crouch End, a place known for its awards and generally good reputation. Upon arriving, the initial greeting was fine, but the music was so loud I could barely hear what the host said. We were initially directed to a bar seat facing the wall, near the door, which wasn’t ideal for a date night. There was some confusion as the host walked away without clear communication. Feeling a bit unsure, I asked another staff member if there was a better option. I noticed a table that had just been vacated but was told it was reserved for the owner's wife. While I understand their loyalty to regular patrons, it felt like paying guests should be the priority. Eventually, the original host returned and offered us a better table, and I think that may have been his intention all along, but with the loud music and rushed greeting, it was unclear at first. Once seated, we realised the atmosphere wasn't as cosy as expected. The volume of the music was overwhelming, forcing everyone to shout to be heard. There was also a lack of soft furnishings, which made the noise bounce around the room, amplifying the din. That said, the drinks were fantastic, and the food was equally impressive. The flavours and presentation of both were top-notch and definitely lived up to the bar's reputation. Takeaways: The atmosphere was too loud and chaotic for a relaxing night out. While the service was polite, clearer communication would have improved the experience. Drinks and food are excellent, so if you’re there solely for the cocktails, you’ll enjoy it. In the end, despite the quality of the food and drinks, the noise level and initial confusion with seating left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. For that reason, I’m unlikely to return.

Hey Darren Thank you so much for the feedback! First I can only apologise that you weren't given a better table option for your booking, none of our booked guests should ever be on the table you were offered. And I totally agree with you about paying guests, and because of that we have a rule that staff booked in on busy nights past as well, and this goes for my wife as well. In terms of noise, I totally agree with you about the sound level, and quality, we are quite literally working on new sound insulation (I actually fitted under table insulation today ironically) and we are looking at new speakers to help resolve the bottom end frequencies that would soften the sound. So while it might take me a little time to get all the fixes in place, we will get there! Thank you again, Alan
