   Overall it was good. Unfortunately our oyster appetizers came fate we were almost done with our lunch. Other than that the server was lovely.

   My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of being greeted by a hostess whose level of enthusiasm could be measured in negative numbers. From the moment we walked in, she looked as though the last thing she wanted to do was help us. No smile, no warmth, just a half-hearted gesture to our table. We were barely given a glance as she left us the menu on the table, as though it was more of a chore than a service. It’s hard to say whether she was having a bad day or simply wasn’t suited for the role, but her complete lack of energy left us feeling like we had interrupted her break time. A warm greeting and a little effort can go a long way, but sadly, we didn’t get either. The rest of the dining experience was fine—thankfully, the servers were much more attentive—but that initial interaction really set a tone. If the hostess isn’t going to show any kind of enthusiasm for the restaurant, it’s hard to believe the kitchen is fully invested either. Hopefully, they’ll address the situation before their reputation for first impressions starts to match the energy we were greeted with.

   Under new ownership , the wine list has become very pedestrian and very expensive. Too bad . They used to carry interesting wines at fair prices. I will go less often as a result.

   Service was great. Food was tasty. We miss the Berkowitz family. It was so much better when they owned it.

   Bad experience. We checked in and were told we would have to wait a few minutes. 20 min later, no table. I asked at the desk, and host insisted he had seated us. Salads came with entrees despite us asking for salads first. The corn side was canned corn. The seafood casserole was watery. Service was slow, and it just seemed that no one cared. We used to eat at Legal a lot, but this will be the last time. It has really gone downhill.

   Always predictably great food and service. Even small things like water being refilled without ever asking or extra napkins without asking make Legal Seafood an all time favorite. The separate kitchen for allergies assures gluten-free is truly gluten-free.
