   I’ve been to le select bistro before and really enjoyed it, but 4/6 dishes tonight were bad. Over salted, too much garlic, a veggie risotto had a piece of shrimp in it. Must be a new kitchen crew as it was nowhere near what I had experienced before.

   We always loved visiting Le Select for years, it has been a stable in Toronto and when it comes to French cuisine, you can always count on Le Select, but this time, it wasn't up to par. The onion soup and the Bouillabaisse was way too salty. Onion soup is supposed to be more on the salty side, but this was almost unbearable. We asked for hot water to dilute it. I think this started us on the wrong foot for the rest of the night. Our favorite for the night was the Terrine Fois Gras, Beef Tartare, and the lemon pie for dessert. Service was excellent as expected, she was attentive and accurate. Our table if 8 automatically applies an 18% service charge, nothing unusual about this, but what was unusual is they also charge a 13% tax on top of the service charge. They've corrected our bill but how many people ended up paying tax on gratuity? Not sure if this is normal restaurant practice, but will pay more attention from now on.

   Ordered the Boeuf Bourgignon and steak frites. Excellent dishes combined with reasonably priced wines and excellent service made for a great evening.

   Excellent French food in a beautiful environment. Service was wonderful. The only thing that would have improved our evening was if it had been just a tiny bit less loud. Other than that, it was wonderful and we will definitely be returning.

    We enjoyed our meal(brunch). I had the galette with salad. Was good but a lot of oil. Still enjoyable. My sons had the du jour breakfast and very much enjoyed it. Service was excellent. Environment is very French bistro(of course) and always enjoyable. Thanks!
