Michelin-starred Le Jardinier is a unique and refined restaurant from Michelin-starred Chef Alain Verzeroli located in The Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

Rooted in timeless French approach, Chef Verzeroli has created a menu where plants play a prominent role: seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs, and greens are complemented by wild and sustainable fish with local Texas meats. All our breads are gluten-free and baked in house.

Le Jardinier's light-filled space will evoke a feeling of relaxed-luxury and incorporate custom art pieces with outdoor dining set within an Isamu Noguchi-designed sculpture garden. In 2024, Le Jardinier was awarded one Michelin Star at Texas' Inaugural Michelin Guide.

Le Jardinier is one of my favorite Houston restaurants, and it has deservedly won a Michelin star. The food is innovative, fresh, and delicious; the service is professional and attentive but not intrusive; and the ambience is beautiful and sophisticated--quiet enough for conversation, a rarity these days. I look forward to dining here again.

The food and service were wonderful but the guest checkin experience was awkward and problematic. Apparently they sat another party at my table but quickly sat my guest and I and all was corrected.

Outstanding Michelin restaurant. It was an amazing experience. The food was divine and it was arranged like artistic masterpieces. So appropriate for a restaurant located at the art museum. Our server, Elvio, was professional and attentive. It’s obvious that he enjoys his job and making people happy.

I don’t mind paying for excellent food and service. Neither the food nor the service were at the level you expect for the prices. I ordered a bottle of wine. 30 minutes later, a manager informed me that they didn’t have the wine. Why did it take 30 minutes for them to figure out they didn’t have the bottle of wine? No service recovery of any kind was offered. It took another 15 minutes to receive my second-choice wine, a $90 bottle of dry riesling from New York. Meanwhile, no bread was served. While I received a cup of water, no carafe was left at the table. At any café or restaurant in Paris, you get a basket of bread as soon as you sit down and drink a cup of water. My main course was a mushroom and parmesan risotto. I asked for a protein option and was told I could get a fillet of salmon. They didn’t tell me the salmon was actually the main course salmon at $42 even though I was merely ordering a side of salmon for the top of the risotto. $42 for a 5.5-ounce fillet of salmon, which is maybe $9 at Walmart or Whole Foods. So, my $24 risotto cost $66, which is outrageous. The risotto itself was below average. No visible parmesan and the mushrooms were chopped up and barely there. In Paris, you would see shaved parmesan in the mushroom and unchopped mushrooms. No fresh pepper was offered nor was I given a knife to cut into the salmon. When I complained about being charged $42 for the salmon main course when all I had was a piece of salmon on a risotto, they deducted $5. But even at $37, it’s still highway robbery. Most restaurants would charge between $12 and $18 for a fillet of salmon on a risotto or salad. I was never offered coffee, dessert, or cheese. No manager ever came to see how my meal was.
