Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Chef Rob Feenie

From the OpenTable editors: This French fine-dining icon has dazzled Vancouverites since 1983. Legendary chef Michel Jacob passed the torch to his friend and Iron Chef America winner Rob Feenie in 2024, and Feenie still celebrates the restaurant's French origins while incorporating some of his West Coast roots. Expect Dover sole deboned tableside in an herb beurre blanc, steak tartare, and other classics served in an elegant white tablecloth dining room.

First time back to the new restaurant The delicate changes are extremely elegant and in very good taste. Some of the old staff is still there and adds some of the original ambience. The food we thought was at least as good as it originally was before. Rob Feeny is an incredibly talented chef, and extremely humble and gracious. We will definitely be back again.

Outstanding food and service honours Michel Jacob’s legacy of excellence. It’s great to have Rob Feenie continuing and enhancing Le Crocodile. We’ll be back.

Everything was perfect except the noise level. It is hard to hear anything other than the person next to you.

I've read some reviews where people didn't seem happy about the food. I don't see how that's possible. We had the Dover sole and the steak but we asked for the morel sauce instead of the pepper sauce and it was spectacular. Dessert was amazing and the service was wonderful. I don't know how anybody could find anything to complain about.

We were hesitant to visit the "new" Le Crocodile as it has been our beloved go-to for special occasions over the past 20 years. Overall, we were very happy to see some favourites remained, and the new additions to the menu kept the spirit of the original restaurant deep at heart. The fois gras terrine was absolutely perfect, and I'm still experiencing last bite sadness haha. Amazing. Pleased to say that Rob Feenie's Le Crocodile, while not the same, retains its place on our family's "favourites-of-all-time" list.

Made us feel welcome the moment we sat down, kept it fun while offering great input on the menu. Steak tartar was phenomenal.

Mr. Feenie has kept up most of the traditions of Le Croc. Great food. We missed the frites and wish there was an onion tart still on the menu but the smoked trout dish should never be taken off. It was delicious. Gavin our bartender was outstanding and the sommelier was informative and made some fantastic pairings for the tasting menu we had. A great dining experience.

Had the tasting menu with the wine pairing Each course was incredible in its own way. Service was amazing and the sommelier served us each wine. It was great to experience her passion for wine directly and hear her reasons for choosing each one!
