Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: This French fine-dining icon has dazzled Vancouverites since 1983. Legendary chef Michel Jacob passed the torch to his friend and Iron Chef America winner Rob Feenie in 2024, and Feenie still celebrates the restaurant's French origins while incorporating some of his West Coast roots. Expect Dover sole deboned tableside in an herb beurre blanc, steak tartare, and other classics served in an elegant white tablecloth dining room.

My friend and I hadn't been to Le Crocodile since it was taken over by RF, and it was a very good transition. The decor was slightly simplified but not radically changed, and the food and service were extremely good.

The food was refined and delicious. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and the sommelier was very enthusiastic about her wines. Will be back for sure.

Excellent food and service! We opted for the set menu with wine pairing, and it was absolutely worth it—highly recommended. The dishes were mouthwatering, and the service was truly exceptional. Thank you for a memorable experience!

As a resident of Toronto, I believe this restaurant is a fantastic addition to the Vancouver dining scene. The food and service are excellent—no complaints at all. However, I feel that Vancouver restaurants could benefit from implementing dress codes. Encouraging patrons to put a bit more effort into their attire would enhance the overall ambiance, as casual dress can sometimes give the restaurant a grungy appearance.

I discovered this restaurant through Yelp and was blown away! I've traveled to BC from Los Angeles and this was one of the best meals I've had all year. Not only was the food incredible but the service was exceptional. The prices are on the higher end but it's SO worth it. Highly recommend the escargot and the duck. I will definitely be coming back here when I travel back to the city!

Lovely experience - the restaurant upgraded our table into the adorable private dining area for our engagement dinner with our parents. The food was delicious. 10/10 all around!

Always a lovely time with exceptional service. It was our first time back since Rob Feenie took over and we were not disappointed. (Did miss the Amuse Bouche of what we would describe as Crème Caramel Pate but not enough to feel missing out). The Beet Salad was outstanding. Steak, Risotto and Dover Sole were delicious. Excellent Wine list and great advice to assist in matching.

Disappointing! This new iteration of Le Crocodile by Rob Feenie does not measure up to Michel Jacob’s previous standard in so many ways…starting with the demi baguette which came with salted butter that’s so over the top ( i.e. saltiness is not a virtue here ) which became the theme of all the rest of food, overpowering and salty taste of sauces! Confit garlic spinach sauce for frog legs, sweet soy duck jus for the duck breast, a reduction kind of sauce for the lamb ( which looks similar to the duck sauce). Plating is uninspiring. The creme brûlée for dessert summed up the overall experience for me (it was served neither warm nor cold, at room temperature) the food was neither this nor that! Service was excellent though, in keeping with the fine dining style of the restaurant! Noise level was high, but tolerable.
