   We have visited Lawson's a few times and every time it has been an enjoyable experience. The food is always excellent, well presented and very reasonably priced. Staff are always attentive but not intrusive.

   Wow the food was amazing, the service was brilliant and the place is lovely, great value for money, it’s nice to dine in a traditional restaurant and there isn’t many in that area of town, the majority are more fast food restaurants with Pizza, burgers etc! highly recommend 👍

   Cold mushroom soup was served in a cold bowl and sent back. Mushrooms in Stilton and cream sauce, too creamy and only lukewarm. Very disappointing this time. We have never been served cold food before. My Blade of beef served on a cold plate, which the waitress had no idea about. She carried the plate protecting her hands from the cold plate. Not good enough. Sadly the chef did not warn her that the plate was hot when it was stone cold. The waitress who cleared the main course plates needs training properly. She started to stack the plates, then started again. I think she thought she was working in a school canteen. She tipped some of the cutlery onto my lap, she did apologise. If the management looked after their staff and trained them to a high standard everything would have been fine. Desserts were fine.

   Fabulous food. We had the early special which was a surprise as we had booked for 6.45 as could not get in at 7pm and we're presently surprised st the pricing. Will definitely go there again.

   Two Brocoli and Pea soups, one Smoked Haddock Fishcake and my Scotch egg with Mustard mayo all beautifully presented and all very delicious! We all ordered the Blade of Beef and wete not disappointed. Again beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. I've not had Horseradish mash before and loved it. I felt the redcurrant jus really enhanced the taste of the beef. None of us had a sweet because we were all too full. A really lovely first experience of Lawsons and one I will definitely be repeating. Thank you from myself, and my friends 💕

    Our first time at lawson’s but it will not be our last, great place, great food and great staff. Early evening dinner menu could not of been better value for money with great food at an awesome price.
