   Beautiful surroundings with attentive, friendly staff. The carvery was plentiful, fresh & hot. The conservatory dining area attractive and warm in the sunshine. There is also a more traditional dining room that is cosy & that would be my preference for future visits. The only thing I didn’t like was that there were dogs at nearly every table also enjoying the carvery meal. I would like to see an area that is dog free for dining.

   The restaurant did not have our booking that we booked via “open table”😡 Error on open table website I guess. But staff were very accommodating and fit us in. Food was delicious! We had the carvery

   Very nice carvery for Sunday lunch. Lovely setting in the conservatory with views of the lake and grounds

   Stayed in a lodge here & we ate in the restaurant twice & the food was lovely came out really quickly & friendly staff

   The staff and service is great but the food was not good, I had the bean chilli and it was so watery that I had a pool of water at th bottom of my bowl, my husband had the venison and the meat was ok but the rosti just mush and plate of red cabbage. The hen desert they ran out of lemon pi so had the pefiterols which were inedible but they did not charge for them which was as good! Same as a lovely location, breakfast was nice though.

   Not impressed I had prebooked as it was our Golden Anniversary. On arrival there was no one to greet us and when someone did turn up we were told they had no recollection of our booking even though I had received a text to confirm we were still attending, and to see if they could FIT us in. This was not a good start. We were told yes you can go to table 27 (which was also our Lodge Number) coincidence. Well we got a drink quick enough & eventually got asked what we would like to order it then took 45 mins before our meal came out after me asking when it would arrive. The food was OK not brilliant for the money I was expecting better from the reviews other people had left. When they came to take our plates away we were asked if we would like the dessert menu, yes we would which again was a lengthy wait which I had to chase for by this time we had had enough & I asked for the Bill. We won't be eating at the Dabbling Duck again on our stay at Lakeside. The Restaurant wasn't even that busy that night so I dread to think what the length of service would have been if they had been.

   Excellent service and food at a reasonable price. Food was freshly cooked with good sized portions. Best fish and chips I've had

    Beautiful venue, warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly. 2nd time we've been here. Then food was lovely, I was looking forward to the garlic mushrooms however there wasn't any lef lt when we ordered. The crayfish did well in it's replacement. The fish and chips on the next table looked amazing, i wish I'd ordered that. Unfortunately I didn't love the pie filling, the flavours were good however it had a very soup/corn flour texture. The grounds and atmosphere is lovely. 10/10 for the lemon cheesecake!! Will definitely return
