From the OpenTable editors: Joël Robuchon alum Mitsunobu Nagae melds his Japanese heritage with French cooking at this MICHELIN-starred Tribeca gem. That means you might find dishes like foie gras crème brûlée stuffed in citrus or miso-marinated Japanese butterfish with baby artichoke on the seasonal tasting menu—or choose from à la carte options at the bar. Either way, you'll be seated in a space that's definition: Tribeca; an elegant room with velvet chairs and booths and a marble accent wall.

The Lighthouses of Yquem are a constellation of remarkable restaurants where visionary chefs and sommeliers, united by their passion for Château d’Yquem, explore its endless potential for culinary creativity. Each offers a unique way to experience this legendary wine, served by the glass from a distinctive format, revealing new dimensions with every pairing. To celebrate the release of the new 2022 vintage, l’abeille in New York will host a special collaboration, bringing together Guillaume Galliot (Caprice***, Hong Kong), the very first member of this exclusive community, and Mitsunobu Nagae, chef of the most recent Lighthouse. The pioneer and the latest addition will be shining together for an unforgettable evening. Pierre Lurton, President of Château d’Yquem and Château Cheval Blancwill be an honored guest for this special evening. Guests will experience an exceptional selection of Yquem vintages directly ex-Château, including 1945, 1990, 2001, 2005, and 2022 - along with the rare “Y” d’Yquem—a Bordeaux Blanc blending Sauvignon Blanc with select lots of Sémillon, all grown on the same legendary terroir as Château d’Yquem. Produced only in select vintages and typically limited to fewer than 20,000 bottles, “Y” d’Yquem is a rare and sought-after treasure. Highlights of the evening will include Yquem 1990, which is currently showing at an evolutionary highpoint, with balanced notes of botrytis such as honey and orange, supported by a graceful acidity to be paired with roasted Guinea Fowl. Yquem 2005, an iconic vintage that is touted for its perfect balance with a glorious tension will be paired with blue lobster from Brittany. The pièce de résistance of the evening will be the opportunity to taste Yquem 1945, a legendary vintage that will offer a window into how this post WWII wine has developed over time with tertiary characteristics that offer immense complexity. All of the wines for the night will be poured have been sourced directly from Yquem’s historic cellars. The evening begins on a high note with a KRUG Champagne reception at 6:30 PM.

I think the waiters need to know a little bit more about lobster came from what part of Maine, and perhaps they can talk more about the. And to talk about the tile fish more and about the fact that it's a christy top which makes people feel like it's a bone.. Christoph was amazing and it was wonderful to talk to him since we love. Essential restaurant and he was involved with it as well as with chef being friends with the chef of essential.. I thought the waitresses were terrific and the sommelier.

What would have been an excellent tasting menu experience was marred by the chef’s fatal choice of including cheese on the tagliatelle w/truffles (+$75 supplement). The flavour of the truffles, delicate at best, was obscured by the cheese. The dish essentially became a “mac n’ cheese”. Terrible faux pas for a Michelin starred restaurant. A simpler inclusion of very good olive oil alone, would have done the trick. Excellent wine list, service and ambience,

Disappointing. Overpriced for what you get. Ate a la carte at the bar. Lobster appetizer was good but nothing very special. Truffle pasta was way too rich. Sorbets were awful. Best thing by far was an amuse bouche of fragrant beef broth/consomme and mushrooms-that was the quality I had hoped for. And, guys, dusty artificial flowers at a starred restaurant? Really?

Overpriced for the quality of the food. Wine waitress had a terrible attitude. The bartender didn’t know how to make a martini, I had to send it back 3 times. I was told he knows only how to make the specialty cocktails on their menu. Strange. The fact that there’s no a la carte option at the tables but only at the bar is also weird. Overall, poor experience. Doesn’t even remotely compare to an equivalent Michelin star dining experience in Europe. Won’t be going back.

Had a great time in L'abeille, staff was energetic and very friendly. We had Chef's tasting menu and every dish on that was exceptional. They also accommodated our dietary restriction. Same with all the cocktails we had, all of them very well balanced, novel and tasty.
