Always a lovely time and ambience. Dinner for two. Had the Leche de Tigre, beef and mushroom empanadas and the loma soltado. More than enough food.

Great food and service! Jose was our server and he was very informative about the menu and portions for our table. We were a group of 10 that had a great corner with a beautiful view, table settings, and ambiance. They had a great holiday decor too. We loved the calamari, whole octopus, and salmon. There were many favorites and highly recommended this place!

There is no better place to have great Peruvian food than La Mar. Their dishes are full of flavor and you will definitely want to come back. The ambience is really nice too but on busy times it can get a little loud and the service is great too. Would highly recommend if you’re in SF and want great food overall

This is one of the best dining experiences in San Francisco, located at Pier 1 with stunning views and a sophisticated atmosphere. The menu is equally impressive. In our group of 12, we ordered a variety of dishes to share, and every single one was exceptional—each better than the last. Honestly, every item seems worth trying, giving us plenty of reasons to return. Cons: As a large party, we were required to agree to a 25% gratuity upfront, which seemed reasonable. However, the service didn’t meet expectations. The host at the entrance appeared to be having a bad day, and our server was overwhelmed, making it difficult even to order a second round of drinks. Despite this, I’d love to return, but next time as a smaller party. Highly recommended for couples or small groups, but not ideal for larger gatherings.

First time dining here and it did not disappoint. Half of our party came early and enjoyed a couple cocktails in the beautifully designed bar. Loved the squid light fixture and cozy sitting areas. We had a reservation at 6:30 pm and were seated right away in the main dining room. The ambiance was very nice and not too loud We ordered the pisco sour and cancha old fashion drinks. The old fashions came smoked- so good! For our meal, we ate family style. The four of us shared the grilled octopus, clasico ceviche, chauta aeropuerto (waygu sirloin & fried rice), lomo saltado, black cod, and empanada tasting which included one each of corn, beef, chicken and mushroom. We also served plantain chips. Everything was delicious… we ordered the perfect amount of food. To accompany our meal, we had a bottle of Tempranillo. For dessert, we ordered the tres leche cake and choco maracuya paired with a port wine. Perfect night with amazing food! Looking forward til our next meal here again. Will definitely be back!

Did not enjoy the restaurant. Food was good, but service was indifferent at best. Not understaffed, just uninterested. Hostess brought us to table without menus. Waited 10 minutes for server to show up with them. Many service people walked by without noticing water bottles empty and then they were removed without being replaced. Took an eternity to get aps and food. Food delivered sporadically instead of serving everyone at same time. Bathrooms are practically non existent. A literal single toilet bathroom for men at the entrance for a 200 seat restaurant? Are you kidding me? Noise was 85 decibels, had to shout to talk. Read the other reviews and was looking forward to it but we did not enjoy it at all. Could not wait to leave, except we had to because no one noticed we had been done for a while and wanted a bill. Will not return.

Great all around restaurant! My table had the tasting menu which included a really good assortment of food. The nigiri was my favorite followed by the ceviche. The entree was a white fish but was too salty and very dry. My favorite part of the evening was the service, I was expecting our cocktails and food to take a long time because they were so busy but everything came in a really timely manner. The ambiance was very fun and high energy as well.

I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE PAELLA- we ordered it with lobster- there was hardly any lobster- it was mostly mushy rice. The taro chips are great as are the yucca fries. The empanadas were also good.

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. It was my first experience with Peruvian food and the waiter did a great job explaining the dishes and ingredients. The staff were all so welcoming, and the food was the best I’ve had in a very long time. It tasted fresh, flavorful and presented beautifully with lots of colors and textures. The restaurant itself is stunning with views of the water. It’s conveniently located near the ferry.
