Front desk receptionist was not helpful and delayed siting us letting others pass even though we had reservations . We were charged for an item that was not delivered.

Food was great, service was horrible. ~10 minutes from ordering a beer and seeing it on the table. Food took like 40 minutes to arrive. Iced tea took around 20 minutes to arrive. Place has lots of potential but I was really disappointed with the service. When we arrived at 5:45pm place was empty!! Why does a beer take 10 minutes?!

The food is absolutely excellent! We loved every dish! There still seem to some hiccups, though, as new restaurants will have. 1- It took about half an hour after we arrived to order a drink, which arrived after our fist drink. 2- our waiter did this weird thing of holding up the menu and explaining things…..while we did not have menus in our hands to follow him… so it was all for nothings… I love Peruvian food, and I wish them the best of luck!

The food is amazing, service prompt, we went here for our anniversary. While I’ll be returning for the food, but what was seriously uncool was how the “complimentary”glass of mediocre cava (which we did not ask for- which one of us did not even finish), was charged in the final bill! I don’t think I would have had reservations paying for a celebratory toast, but for it to be charged is ridiculous ! I’d rather pay more money and get a Cava/ champagne of my choice.

Second time there. Food and service were both amazing. The whole fried fish was so good but the quinoa chaufa may have been the best of the lot. Also the old fashioned drink was perfect.

This is an excellent restaurant. I've eaten at locations in San Francisco and South America and was very excited for their opening in Bellevue. One thing that is strange and off putting, is that when you are first given menus, they are ONLY for drinks. Most restaurants would be smart to give each guest a drink menu - many only provide 1 for the table which slows things down - but not providing a food menu until quite a bit later is not the best. This is particularly true for La Mar where I suspect most diners are not at all familiar with the menu and could use more time to read through it. There aren't all that many Peruvian restaurants in the Seattle area and you won't find many of these dishes at other restaurants so having more time with the menu would be appreciated. The food presentation and taste is excellent.
