Booked via n app open table on the night we went. On arrival they had not opened the app to find the booking. However they only had about 10 people in the restaurant and it was not a problem ( we had travelled 20 mins at taxi cost 25Euros). There was no English menu and only the owner spoke a little English ; not usually a problem except the fancy descriptions of the food were hard to translate without help. The majority of the food was perfectly cooked and tasted lovely. The speciality spaghetti was not easy to translate and I ended up with sausages in pasta with a kind of onion / cream sauce - nowhere near the standard of the rest of the food! We waited over an hour for the starters -baring in mind it was not even a quarter full, the waiter said 5 minutes, then after this the manager said 5 min then again the waiter said another 3 minutes - it was a farce. As we were now obviously a little agitated, the manager offered a free drink- after a bottle of wine and an aperitif on an empty stomach - I declined.
The steak main courses were excellent, the pasta almost inedible. The wine menu was extremely expensive - most supermarket type wine and all over 45 euros u to over 100 euros and not premier crus etc.A Kir Royale was 14Euros etc.As soon as we had finished this course - it had taken over 3 hours to serve this meal with nothing requiring specialist cooking. The manager and his staff now eating at the back of the restaurant were not interested in us being the last remaining customers so we signalled for him to come over - he practically threw the bill at us to which we said we had wanted the desert menu! I wish we hadn't bothered - the three unoriginal desserts increased the bill by 36euros! In total the meal for 4 - 1 soup, two calamari and one mussels, 3 steaks and ne spaghetti with sausages and three tiramisu with one bottle of Italian red two beers and a Kir Royale came to a grand total of 256Euros! in our 4 star hotel this would have cost approx. 180Euros.
