I’m really disappointed with the service we received. This place is not what it used to be. The music was way too loud, the food was bad, and the service was terrible. I had high hopes since my visit a few months ago was great, but unfortunately, this time was a letdown. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Koya has definitely transitioned Management from when the restaurant originally opened. The service was terrible and the restaurant was out of several menu items. This is far from a fine dining experience that we had when the restaurant first opened. The food service was slow, we did not have silverware or water after asking several times. The server did not know how to work the torch for a smoked drink order. Koya was one of the worst dining experiencing I’ve had in Houston and we definitely will never come back. In addition, the speakeasy lounge that has a nice ambiance now serves hooka, which changes the entire vibe.

Se demoran mucho para servir los tragos , y la comida no esta muy buena , el local es bonito y el ambiente es bueno , solo deben de mejorar en la comida y ser mas rápido en la atención de las bebidas

The ambience was great. We loved the vibe. Everyone was nice and our party enjoyed themselves. We got to see 2 mini shows which was very different. (In a good way!) The food however was just ok. The rack of lamb were very skinny and didn’t have enough meat for the price. Also the snapper did not have any seasoning. All in all this place was nice if you want to experience something different for a date night.

My fiancé and I first date night in a while heard great things about this restaurant so was looking forward to going out. Horrible experience . So setting the scene there was only two tables in the whole restaurant us and another couple. It took ten minutes to be greeted our drink order was taken and she immediately walked away even though we were ready to put appetizers in . And did not return for ten minutes dropped our drinks off and again walked not saying anything to head back to the bar to converse with the bartender. After coming back we finally were able to place appetizers and wanted. To ask questions about entrees I asked about two options she explained what she liked better and I requested that and she responded oh we don’t have it tonight . So a waste of time she said she would come back . When she came back I chose another item . Oh we don’t have that either and proceeded to advise what entrees they did have . At this point I did not really want to order but we had driven a hour so decided to stay . So I proceeded to order a side guess what they did not have that either . We asked why and they said cause it’s Sunday. A limited menu is not listed on their website nor the menu nor were we advised of this when sitting down. So you think the frustration would stop there nope. So again only two couples in the whole restaurant. When our food was ready the chef yelled across the restaurant to the waitress who was again talking to another employee at the bar she of course didn’t hear him so 8 mins went bye food sitting at the counter . The chef then called again much louder and the waitress came and got the food . When the waitress came we did advise this was a horrible experience she looked like she didnt understand and offered a free drink . We declined. Ate . Payed a bill . Great $350 experience.

Disappointing experience. First, it was way too loud, to the point where the server couldn’t even hear our order and kept asking us to repeat the order, something’s wrong if you have to yell your order. The baked oysters were awful and chicken was overcooked. We were constantly trying to find our server, no silverware for our appetizers. And they automatically charged tip for a 4-top. This place is not cool enough to make up for bad service, mediocre food, temporary hearing loss nor to justify how expensive it is.

The wait for drinks and food was overkill. I get trying to keep us at the restaurant but it was both expensive and annoying to have to wait an hour for a drink and our waiter seemed distracted. The food wasn’t bad, the noise wasn’t a problem. I didn’t know going in with my wife that it would be half naked females on stage poppin’. It’s good I ain’t wear my prescriptions. Couldn’t see for a zam.
