   Another great experience at Kounter! I had two friends visiting. One had been to Kounter with me before and wanted to go again with her friend who had never been. I am always happy to go there. We went at 1:45pm on a Friday. The food was delicious and my first-time friend loved the experience, too. The service was great. Brandy was with us and is always efficient and personable. We started with the tots (my fav) and the fried ribs. We then had the salmon salad, chicken. sandwich and grilled cheese. We each shared a bite and all was spectacular. I have had nothing but exceptional food at Kounter. It is my go-to restaurant in town, especially with people who are not from the area. The historical element is a bonus, and I always take new friends through the Friendship 9 display. It's always moving, and I am proud to share that moment in history with people. It's paramount that we learn and do not forget. Thank you, Kounter, for another fantastic afternoon!

   We came in about 30-45 mins till close on a Tuesday night. Being in the service industry ourselves, we were prepared to order and get out of their way. Everyone from the front to the back of the house were very gracious and patient. We didn’t feel a single bit rushed, (we did not drag it out, out of respect) and had a delicious as usual experience!    The service was great, Skyler was prompt, pleasant and professional. The Kounter has a very quaint style. Noise level was 0 to none. Laughter all around us. The one thing I enjoyed was how the hallway highlights the culture of those who experienced unfair treatment. The quote that stood out the most was the one about " Fighting for better. It's was overall 10/10. The waffle were amazing, and I enjoyed the grits too!!!! 😋 Visit and you will be pleased and satisfied.

   Amazing food and super sweet server (Ajada). She had great suggestions and feedback on our choices. Everything we ate was amazing—especially the poke and the mussels. Great time. Only negative was the hostess could have been nicer. She we arrived about 10 minutes late due to a car accident backup. She informed us that we had an hour and a half to eat and had to leave by 8pm for the next reservation. Odd and off putting. Luckily, Ajada made up for it with her excellent service!

   We started at the speakeasy next door. The host at the beginning was very sweet and had amazing customer service. Upon sitting down at the bar, at the very unstable bar stools, the bartenders seemed to be not interested in being there. I had to greet him, ask how he was doing and It seemed as though I was bothering him. If I am sitting at your bar, I expect to be greeted but maybe that’s different at this establishment. After our cocktails, we went over to have dinner. We were sat immediately when we entered. The server was kind but we were never greeted. We were just asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered to pear martinis. The Martinis were delicious but on the sweeter side. Food wise, we ordered the scallops, the steak and lobster.The steak was not seasoned with salt or pepper. Scallops were delicious and the lobster dish was awesome. Overall, we had a decent experience. But I probably won’t travel out of my way to visit this restaurant again. We started our evening at the speakeasy next door, where the host was incredibly sweet and provided amazing customer service — definitely a great first impression. However, once seated at the bar on very unstable stools, the energy shifted. The bartenders seemed disengaged and uninterested. I had to initiate conversation, greeting the bartender and asking how he was doing, which felt more like an inconvenience than a welcome. A simple greeting goes a long way, especially when sitting at the bar, but unfortunately, that hospitality was lacking. After our cocktails, we moved over to the restaurant for dinner. We were seated immediately, which was a plus, but again, there was no warm welcome — just a direct question about what we wanted to drink. Our server was polite but not particularly warm or engaging. We ordered pear martinis, which were delicious but on the sweeter side. For dinner, we ordered the scallops, steak, and lobster. The scallops were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. All out of space to write more.

   I recently dined at Kounter, and it was an exceptional experience! The ambiance was inviting, the service attentive (Gray), and the food was outstanding. Every dish and drink was a delight and, showcasing fresh ingredients and unique flavors. Highly recommend for a memorable meal!

   Jada, our waitress was so sweet and helpful with recommendations and suggestions! The fried ribs were outstanding, and my trout dish with dirty rice with zucchini was fantastic light and flavorful. My husband had the hanger steak that was cooked perfectly. The canoli butterfingers cheesecake filled dessert was divine and worth the calories and the workout I did earlier. Cocktails were great, and the story behind the location was worth the trip to Rock Hill! Hats off to the chef that we saw at the speakeasy. You have a gem and can't wait to return!

    I ate at Kounter for brunch and overall really enjoyed it! We ordered the chicken and waffle and the old town original. Both were large plates/ portions and great value!! The old town original was excellent- the bbq sauce on the rib was my favorite and the sausage patty was also really good. The chicken and waffle was a little disappointing because the chicken had very little seasoning/ flavor. The waffle was great and the whipped cream was amazing!! Also, they make their own ketchup in house, which was pretty cool. We will definitely come back!
