Great, prompt (but not intrusive) service. Interesting menu and wine/cocktail selection. The humble pork chop I chose was outstanding. I also appreciate tables aren't closely squashed together, making the ambience relaxed and noise-levels not excessive, even on a Saturday night (when we dined)

Really great menu and the friend I was with observed that the menu and food was far better than her trip to a recently refurbished hotel & restaurant she’d visited, following a fire. Each course was delicious and the service was polite & courteous. Even better, we were able to chat without yelling at each other! Would definitely recommend.

Three of us ate here on a cold Thursday night. Between us we shared seven different dishes. We enjoyed them all although the gnocchi could have been a bit lighter and the fish was a little overcooked. The wines we chose were lovely and good value, as was the overall menu. I will definitely go again.

Vegan soup came with a cheddar cheese tuile which has to be returned, my fellow diners had full prawns which had to be de-shelled (not stated on the menu) then had to ask for some lemon water to qash their handa in, serviettes not replaces unless asked, a waitress spilled a full drink of Aperol Spritz over the table which went over my mum, tried to clean it up with serviettes until I suggested getting a mop for the floor, my vegan gnocchi was extremely dry and dense, the steamed broccoli was nice but only a few stalks for £6 seemed steep. The others enjoyed their steak and fish, but presentation was very basic and the staff seemed very undertrained. Having worked for many years in the hospitality sector I could see a lot of ways things could be improved in this restaurant. We weren't offered any recompense for the spillage, which is something the manager would need to be trained in as customer service is very lacking. The waitress very apologetic and I know how these things happen, but it just added to quite a poor experience overall and for which we won't return. Shame really as I was excited about the vegan options. I do also believe we were given the pre-theatre menu containing 4 dishes on each course rather than the a la carte menu which we'd seen online which had 5 dishes per course.

The restaurant was small and there was a draft from the overhead vents. I don’t think the restaurant had the nicest of atmospheres. I prefer somewhere cosier but it was close to the theatre which is why we chose it. The food was really tasty and good portion sizes. We’d booked the pre theatre menu so I was shocked when we were charged full price and the waitress asked me if I’d ensured I’d booked the pre theatre menu. I was a bit annoyed to be questioned which I didn’t think was good customer service. Fortunately the bill was adjusted and I felt £31 each for 3 courses which were good quality was very good value.

Really enjoyed this little gem of a restaurant. I wanted something away from the bottomless brunch scene which is taking over everywhere so decided to try here. We visited Saturday afternoon and spent an enjoyable couple of hours. Steak, Seabream, sides, dessert and wine. All exceptional and £60 pp including service charge was v good value as the food was top quality. And ino bottomless brunch crowd to be seen… added bonus 🙂

We arrived late and on a deadline for a concert. We'd let the staff know in advance and they were extremely accommodating. We just had a main course and it was delicious!
