King’s Highway is our desert diner, and celebrates the ineffable, bohemian spirit of the wide open West. Our seasonal menu is sourced from independent farmers spread across the Coachella Valley and Southern California. We reinvented an old Denny’s restaurant to celebrate its retro style and add fresh, modern updates. During renovations we unearthed a terrazzo floor, sandblasted the flagstone walls and re-covered the booths in saddle leather. We’re open all day, every day. The coffee’s hot and the beer is cold. Our popular dishes include ricotta pancakes, chopped salad and short rib ragu.

**Please note that King's Highway operates on a "first come first served" basis between 7 am & 5 pm except for parties of 10 or more

It’s always a delight at the Kings Highway. Staff is always really cool. The Amigo room is under construction, so we hope that 70’s retro feel doesn’t change. Also nice to sit and have a beer or cocktail by the pool

Was disappointed with our experience on Christmas Day Dinner. Starting with arrival and staff ignoring us as we stood next to them to check in for our reservation. After being seated for 10 minutes we were finally greeted by a server, then notified that the bar was closed and which they did not notified in advance when making reservations, but we still presented with a cocktail menu. They only offered beer and wine service during dinner. Our pre-fix entree came out cold and well done. No apology was extended by our server. Pork chop was over cooked, tough and served warm. Desert was never brought out for pre-fix, we had to remind our server and when it was brought, it was cold. This seemed to be the theme for the night. The Staff seemed more concerned with leaving and dropping our check(as a server was overheard saying, did you drop their check yet) instead of making sure our experience was a great one. I am a big fan of the hotel and coming for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately dinner missed all the marks of making a great holiday experience. At least the live music offset the dining experience.

Every time we give this place a chance, it’s because we’ve forgotten how bad it is. The roast chicken had skin like rubber, gravy paste, and mushy green beans. The one star is for the mashed potatoes, which were ok. $50 per person with a ridiculous 3% fee added to the bill for no obvious reason is a sham. If you’re going to spend money, go to Mr Lyons. If you’re in the mood for a diner, go to Elmer’s.

What could be better than Drag Bingo on Monday night? We arrived early, and the staff gave us the lowdown and what to expect! Friendly staff and accommodating. Bingo was the bonus and kept everyone entertained while meals and drinks were served. I enjoyed the Monday night chicken special and my wife had the loaded soup. I was lucky enough to wine bingo twice so desserts were on the house. Overall, a fun spot for visitors and locals alike. Would make a return trip.

We have always loved King’s Highway and the scene at the Ace. Renovations going on now walled off access to the pool bar and Amigos is being redone. No Photo Booth anymore. The place was dead, empty, food was just okay. The server didn’t offer us a second round of drinks at any point and was largely inattentive. The manager did pop by once to ask if all was okay but we had just been sitting around for so long we didn’t even bother, we just wanted to go. There were 6 of us and they added an automatic service charge which maybe explains the inattentive service, the tip was guaranteed. They also charge a 3% fee on top. Probably won’t go back which is sad because we have been going there since they opened.

There was a live musician who was HORRIBLE. Will also say they seemed incredulous that we’d made a dinner reservation for the patio during the live musician, even though they advertise it. They didn’t have any of the beer on the beer menu, and I they also gave us a menu that said outdoor patio food (where we were seated) from 3-10pm (our reservation was for 6:45pm), and they said they weren’t serving any of that food. The food we did eat was some great (popcorn chicken and burger), some good (baked chicken, green beans, fries), some mediocre (steak), and some bad (tater tots). Found this place on a Time Out Top 18 in Palm Springs, so surprised it was so inconsistent.

Sunday’s Bottomless Fried Chicken dinner is a great deal. The meal is very generous with cornbread, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and all the fried chicken you want. Service was excellent and quick. We were served and before even finishing the big portion of fried chicken were offered more. The variety of pieces included both white and dark meat and it was very good. We would definitely go again and hope they continue the bottomless chicken dinners!
