   My wife and I love Japanese cuisine, and this restaurant had excellent reviews, so we made a reservation. We were greeted warmly, and our hostess explained each dish to us. We were giddy in admiration at how masterfully the dishes looked, and we had to take several moments to enjoy the painstaking work it took to make the dishes beautiful. Each dish made me feel like I was travel to a different region of Japan during the winter, being greeted as a guest by the people who live there with their signature dish. It was especially delightful to see my wife squeal giddily as she admired each dish as they came out. Although our experience was months ago, from time to time, we still talk about the unique dishes we had here and how they tasted. I said to my wife that we had to come here again to try a menu from another season, and we 100% will. Kawachiya gave us a dining experience that warms our hearts whenever we stop to recall it.

   What a wonderful place. My spouse and I had the omakase experience and it was a feast for all the senses. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. The preparation and plating in front of us was truly a one of a kind event. Every plate was excellent and unique.

   In my opinion, it is one of the top tier Japanese resturant in NY and I've already been there twice. The noodles and the beef were my favorite dishes. I'll try dinner next time.

   I had a special dinner course collaborated with Chef Atsushi Okawara from Den Miami Beach and enjoyed beautiful Japanese Kaiseki and Sushi with sake pairings. It was great to see chefs diligent works at the counter, and there were great quality ingredients from Japan. I also tasted several unique seasonings which chefs innovated in the U.S., so it must be a new experience for the people who love Japanese food.
