                                                                      I have eaten here previously and had wonderful experiences. The the service was excellent as it has always been. I also love the ambience. We went yesterday, 11/15, for dinner. Unfortunately, the food was subpar in that every single dish seem to be significantly over salted. I had the Steak au Poivre and my wife had a beet salad which she also felt was over salted. Frankly, I could even taste and feel grains of salt in the butter with the bread serving. It was probably just an off night but the next time I choose to go out to dinner, I may have to reconsider going to this restaurant.

                                                                      My husband and I have enjoyed meals at The Katherine since they opened. We have stayed overnight at The Cardinal a few times. I mean, the model for the Empire State Building! The sophisticated ambiance draws you in, the bicycles available for guests, the dogs who are welcomed with their owners. There are often changes and improvements, the Art Deco remains. The service, and food is nearly always excellent, but the chef may experiment with new offerings. I like bring a part of the production, personally. You will always have an excellent cup of coffee, and generous refills.

                                                                      My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and we were very impressed. We are new to Winston-Salem and have not had the best dining experiences, due to having a higher standard for food quality coming from a major metropolitan city. We were very pleased at how delicious the dishes were, how excellent the service was and the ambiance and location were beautiful. Definitely recommended the Katharine for date nights, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.
