After 18 years of service at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar on Kapiolani boulevard, we are excited to announce the introduction of Kaimuki Shokudo on 11th avenue. You can expect the same Shokudo essence and hospitality paired with a new exciting concept featuring fresh soba along with other delicious Japanese specialties. Food was tasty, although portions were small. We ordered the Kirin pitcher of beer but was overcharged by $5.00. The late night dining price had $21.00, but we were charged $26.00 instead. Parking was plenty at night in back with minimal fee.

We’ve been here a few times. Lively, busy kitchen, usually full tables with some unreserved spots at the bar. Food is always first rate. Reserve a table, if you want a table.

Kaimuki Shokudo had very little parking but the food here was good. The honey toast though was considered pricey for me. $17 just for one layer, that's a lot from the last time we paid at the Kapiolani Blbd location.

Welcome back Shokudo. Haven’t been to Shokudo since the reopen after COVID. Very bad service back then but it’s back to its glory. Excellent food. Excellent service.
