   This is an surprising and amazing outpost of excellent Chinese cuisine in a large region of LA that specializes in mediocre Chinese fare. We started with Peking Duck Quoe Tehr and Sesame Tofu Cubes. Sesame Tofu cubes were very good (A-), while the Quoe Tehr had a truly unexpected and wonderful flavor balance of rich Peking Duck, sauce and covering (A). For our main course, we had Hometown Braised Tofu and Snowbass on Black Sauce. Although I have had many Chinese meals in large cities in China, I have never had a meal in a smaller town there. The Hometown Braised Tofu tasted so wonderfully "country" that I could almost feel myself eating it in a small village. Tofu perfectly braised with a mixture of mushrooms, bamboo shoots and bok choy (A). The Snowbass was both an artistic and taste "piece de resistance". Perfectly cooked very white fish, on a bed of perfectly balanced complex black sauce. (A+). The best dish I have had anywhere in a restaurant in a long time! Service was prompt and attentive. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Inexplicably, the small restaurant was empty except for us on a week night. If you like sophisticated delicious Chinese food at a very reasonable price, you should put this on your list.

   Service was not as good as in the past. Ran out of beer, and orders were not delivered in the sequence specifically requested. Food is always good, but this time was not hot.

   I found this hidden gem a couple of months ago and have had lunch/dinner a few times since. The food is consistently high quality and carefully prepared...I enjoyed every single time. I highly recommend this place if you want to have an authentic, high quality and traditional Cantonese style Chinese food. The service is awesome too!

   Wonderful service in a calm setting was nice but the reason for dining at Joss is the food. The appetizers included eggplant chips, ribs and lettuce cups filled with chicken were a great introduction to the main stair of the evening a perfectly cooked roasted duck, moist and with crispy skin. Pineapple rice, fried tofu and stir fried greens completed the meal with lychee nuts and coffee crunch ice cream as desserts. Good times were had by all and our international group of Californians, New Yorkers and Aussies loved the meal.

   Great experience always. Becky and all are gracious and kind and the food is outstanding. Best Peking Duck out of NY or Hong Kong.

   This small Chinese restaurant makes one feel at home. The staff were very welcoming, we were seated immediately, and the staff was familiar with the dishes. The Peking Duck, pineapple rice and scallion noodles were especially tasty. We had a wonderful experience!

    Excellent food. Pleasant servers but perhaps overwhelmed by volume of takeout orders. Probably best Chinese food in town so definitely coming back for more in near future
