Jeffrey's Restaurant & Bar has been an Austin fine dining institution since 1975. In 2012 the restaurant closed for a major renovation and was reopened by McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality. The legendary restaurant, nestled in the Clarksville neighborhood just west of downtown, features a lively bar and three distinct dining rooms. The menus, from executive chef Mark McCain, features dry-aged prime steaks, updated classic fine dining, and locally sourced produce. The award-winning wine list, one of the largest and most diverse in Texas, features highly-sought after vintages from Old and New World producers. Private dining in the Napoleon Room and The Apartment is available for special events. Valet service is offered.

The charming neighborhood location, old world service & multiple private dining options make Jeffrey's a true Austin gem. Jeffrey's was named “Top 10 Best New Restaurants” in the country by Bon Appetit magazine in 2013.

    Unbelievable. Every moment was special and every flavor built upon the last. Having celiac, they made the experience seamless and I felt perfect after. Very full and perfect. Loved the deviled eggs, beef tartare, lobster bisque, Caesar, wagyu filet, the chocolate dessert, and the crème brûlée 🍮 Thank you for impeccable service and care.

    One of a kind experience! It’s an institution with amazing talents. From culinary to service , everything was we ever wanted it!     Great food and wine selection . Service very slow and we had to keep asking for bread and our salad that was ready in the kitchen but never delivered . Anyway worth the experience of a very good restaurant .

    We frequent Jeffrey’s and always enjoy the experience whether for an event or just the two of us. This time, in an effort to be more conscious of what I put in my body, I asked about the use of seed oil and was informed the salad dressings, including Caesar, contained canola oil. I was surprised that such a high end kitchen would use such a cheap industrial oil. I expected to hear all about the beautiful olive oil that is specially sourced. Disappointing and perhaps indicative of other ingredients?

    The cocktails and food were excellent and the service at Jeffrey’s is second to none in Austin. The scallops, and lobster bisque were exceptional. However, the NY strip I ordered was disappointing. The steak had little to no salt and there was a large knot running through the whole length of the steak making 1/3 of the cut impossible to chew. My wife ordered the filet and it was significantly better.

    Jeffrey’s is the finest overall dining experience in Austin for classic beautiful food, outstanding service, and an incredible wine selection (albeit a pricey but outstanding selection). Each offering is well prepared and well presented. The pork belly duck rillettes are little bites of luscious tasty apps, the escargot was delightful and not the classic thick butter garlic but a fresh presentation of the seafood tidbit with fresh herbs on puff pastry. We had the venison, which was delicious and perfectly medium to dark pink, and a lighter not gamey taste with a perfect sauce and red cabbage as in old world game. Potatoes were yummy but the Brussels sprouts were possibly the best we ever had: perfectly crisp and light in the center. Service was exceptional-attentive, professional yet friendly, knowledgeable and just delightful. Thanks! This why we keep coming back!!!

    We had a wonderful celebratory dinner at Jeffrey’s! The party seated at our table before us ended up taking a long time to depart, leaving us waiting for about 45 minutes past our reservation time. The staff really made up for it with outstanding service and kind gestures, I really appreciate their nice touches and it made the issue no big deal. Food was delicious, drinks were solid, we will definitely be back!
