   We went with high expectations. They were met. The food, the service, and the atmosphere. Small footprint (downstairs, didn’t venture upstairs). Had an 8:00 reservation and were seated shortly before 8:00. We noticed they might have been short a sever, very busy. But we didn’t feel neglected. We took the opportunity to enjoy our dinner and take our time. Whatever you do, order the Nasu kinoku. Mushrooms and eggplant in a butter based sauce. The sake was excellent. Sashimi too. Only disappointment was there was no tai sashimi left. So the otoro was the star. Had the vegetable tempura and it was what you would hope for. Will make this a regular stop when we are in Honolulu

   Sushi omakase was not good which is a first for me and especially in Hawaii. Waitress was not unfriendly and curt. Not much more to say.

   Pretty good japanese food. Didn't try the Sushi tho. Parking was tough, small lot, tho they did say they have another lot. Rice could have been better.

   Izakaya Nonbei is our go-to Japanese restaurant in Honolulu. The large menu ensures that we create the variety of dishes that we want. We go very regularly and will do so for the foreseeable future. We ordered over a dozen dishes for our group of 7 and left very happy.

   Took 13 people last minute. Very nice upstairs area. Great food. Service was a little overwhelmed but still amazing given how short staffed they were. Highly recommend. Very good food, good times.

    Casual fun dining. It’s basically food for drinking but you can have a very nice family dinner here as well. White bright clean interior- doesn’t feel like a “bar” Menu is Ala carte so may choose from a wide assortment of different categories. They have restaurant recommendations but so far everything i have tried is very good. My favs include crab avocado bacon salad, assorted tempura, yakisoba, miso butterfish.
