   Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented. From sashimi to vegetables, noodles and shiitake stuffed with shrimp and scallops. We ordered 5 tasting dishes, and non disappointed. We were very much satisfied with the meal and the prices were reasonable. Our server was also very lovely and attentive. Definitely a go to place for finer Japanese cuisine.

   This would easily have been a 5 star rating if not for the parking situation (full valet w/very limited nearby options) on the night we visited. We finally got lucky and found something. By the time the evening was over, the food and service were so outstanding that we forgot completely about the stress in getting there and, believe me, that's saying something! We're definitely going back and bringing friends, though not during any busy days such as Valentines!

   My wife and I were there for Valentine's day prefix dinner. It was excellent! Our waitress were so friendly and personable. And the food and drinks were fantastic!

   Service was great, food was A-/B+, it was really uncomfortably cold via AC at the bar and in dining room. Special fries with meat, Karage chicken, and skirt steak were all really good, as well as the wine and cocktails. Mahalo! 🌺

   Came here over the weekend with a large party and Jinala, Kennedy, and Sinclair took the best care of us!! Highly recommend and will absolutely be back

   A gem. We were visiting Honolulu from Tokyo and looking for an izakaya. What we found was a modern take on an izakaya with a fusion kind of menu. The fusion part comes from a chef who is Korean, was born in Argentina, trained at the Culinary Institute in NYC, and now works in Hawaii. That explains, for example, the kalbi short ribs (yum). As this is an izakaya the plates are made for sharing and you’ll want to order a few plates per person. Everything we’ve had has been delicious. That said - I recommend started with the Miso Caesar Salad and some Edamame (you might want to have the spicy sauce on the side for the latter). Then maybe a Geisha Roll or some sashimi. And don’t miss the desserts. The atmosphere is very nice. Comfortable seating. Low noise level. Strong air conditioning. The restaurant is in the Romer House Hotel so there is parking and valet parking. There is also a nice bar for a pre or post meal drink. 855 Aloha was interesting enough to us that we went back a couple times. When we return to Tokyo we can find traditional izakaya everywhere but we won’t easily find a place like 855. Casual dress. Major credit cards. Very nice people.
