   Have dined here many times. This time even though there was a large noisy party of thirty on the ground level we requested and were placed on the loft and our service was excellent considering the crowd. They remember us from previous visits and made sure we were well taken care of. Sikil p’aak great and Pipian pork tender and tasty. Our server, Paco was great and Juan stopped by as he always recalls us. Thumbs up to another outstanding dinner at Ix Kool. In the end $40 for two including desert to share and soft drinks. Best authentic Mayan food in Cozumel.

   Wonderful recommendations from our server, including authentic details. Learned they offer cooking classes, too. The dining experience was awesome.

   This was an awesome dining experience! Not only was the Mayan cuisine so different that the traditional Mexican food, but the explanations from Alex & Martin made the flavors come alive. Our favorite was the Mayan tostada - pulpo gently cooked in incredible spices with just the right topping of pickled red onion! Thank you to Martin who sold me on my new favorite margaritas- Chaya - a green leaf that made you think of healthy green juice - with lime & tequila, it was perfect! Don’t miss this restaurant - and Alex & Martin couldn’t have been kinder…

   La comida estaba demasiado condimentada, aunque la atención de los meseros y la persona en la caja fue muy amable. Sin embargo, el gerente actuó de forma prepotente al casi echarnos del lugar, ya que debían cerrar. Nos miró de manera intimidante para que nos retiráramos. A pesar de que al hacer la reserva nos aseguraron que no habría ningún problema y que podríamos cenar tranquilamente, el gerente decidió lo contrario.

    This is a wonderful little restaurant. The menu is MAYAN not Mexican. Don’t come here to get the usual Mexican dishes! The staff are more than willing to explain the menu. The decor is simple but clean. There is a huge flat screen TV explaining how each item is made from the special “Lima” soup (unique citrus found only in the Yucatán) to the pork based entrees cooked in the Mayan version of a tandoori. The food flavors are complex and clear—-not over or under seasoned. The chef has won awards locally and the restaurant is rated #1 of all restaurants in Cozumel on trip advisor for good reason. The setting is spartan but spit spot clean. The bathrooms are upstairs…and there’s no railing. Don’t come if you have mobility issues unless you can hold it a long time!
