   Getting to Irons Steakhouse was a little tricky given that it is located inside a Casino at Kentucky Downs. Once we got through Casino security, it was easily marked and accessible at the front of the casino. The food was great, but our server was a little delayed it taking our order, but very friendly and seemed to be doing her best to cover all of her tables. The only reason for the less than perfect rating is due to the strong smell of cigarette smoke which permeated the entire restaurant. There was no door to close off the casino from the restaurant, so no way to keep the smoke out. It was pretty rough on our sinuses since neither my wife or I smoke. We had a great time and the food was delicious, but we would not go back due to the smoke and we don’t gamble.

   The steak and salmon were prepared to perfection. I'd recommend the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Overall, it was a delightful dinner and served with pride. Our server Zoie, was pulling double duty as a bartender and server. She was there immediately if we needed anything. A positive attitude and willingness to do what was asked. I will request her upon my return.

   We had a birthday we were celebrating and we never got our dessert we were told we would get. Drinks did NOT come in a timely manner. Our total time there was almost 3 hours and our food did not come out super fresh. Had I not spent so much money there, I wouldn’t have expected so much. But my filet was over cooked, the mushrooms and onions on the steak were over cooked, my husbands steak was (the most expensive one on the menu) was tough and over cooked.

   We’ve always have had a great experience. We hosted a nice dinner with 12 friends in the private room. Location, ambience and dinner setting were great. The only complaint was four of the Steak temperatures were off. Two steaks was cold. One was med well, not medium and one was a filet that was sent back. Again, this could’ve been by having a large party. Everyone enjoyed the environment, service and had a great time.

   I ordered a filet medium and it came out very medium well almost well done it didn’t have a great taste whatsoever like it usually does when it is cooked properly. Sides are always good! Service was great!!
