Our waiter was great, the atmosphere is fun, and the menu has lots of appealing options. The kitchen was kind enough to hold the shrimp on the shrimp and scallops dish due to my boyfriend’s crustacean allergy. However, the scallops were blond and rubbery. Considering the price of the dish, it was a huge disappointment. Wine list is good and has a pretty standard restaurant mark up.

I think the consensus of the four of us would have been that the food was quite good so my rating is probably biased by the fact that my own main, osso buco with gnocchi, which I found to be average at best. Not a lot of meat and I found the taste of the dish to be a bit harsh. But we enjoyed our meal and Il Vecchio remains one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants.

THE SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW, ANDN THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE, MY WIFE AND I SHOULD HAVE SENT IT BACK BUT BECAUSE WE WERE WITH OTHERS WE DIDN’T.

Our dining experience here last might was fine. My rigatoni and my wife’s lasagna were tasty, but neither entrees we would order again. The Cesar salad was very disappointing, a bunch of chopped up lettuce with very little taste. Service was very good and the ambiance fine. Not sure that we will rush back as we have had much better meals at some of the other local Italian restaurants.

I wanted to like this meal but it was underwhelming. My pasta was supposed to have wild mushroom, sausage with a wine cream sauce. No mushrooms to be found, like literally none, and no hint of wine in the sauce. Just some pasta with crumbled sausage (not even good sausage) and peas and a small amount of flavorless sauce. It was lackluster and bland. And not what was listed on the menu. Others at the table felt similarly. Won't be going back. Gave it another shot because I heard there were new owners. Nice ambiance but Im there for the food. 4/10
