   Consistently very good food and service to the ambiance. While more of a "neighborhood" option for us, we usually visit Il Monello when friends are visiting from out of town. A diverse menu, excellent taste/quality and professional service. Il Monello is a nice niche between red-sauce and upper-end i.e. original Il Mulino. While on the east-side of Midtown East do not let its location deter you. Easy to access via taxi and bus and a nice option from the usual hustle and bustle of similar restaurants in more tourist oriented areas. Be sure to try the Il Monello Salad as an app. and the tartufo for dessert. From experience all entrees from the pastas, to the meats and fish/seafood always positive reviews from guests. Of note on the chicken parm, when offered pasta, I suggest declining as the dish itself is quite large, may not have room for the pasta side......

   Fantastic place! Reserved a table for two but ended up showing up with four - called ahead and was told no problem at all. Greeted by a wonderful and friendly hostess and then seated by our outstanding server. Everything during the evening was wonderful and we were so pleased by the food selections. Everyone at the table raved about the food and left nothing on their plates at the end. All waitstaff was very attentive and we never felt rushed during our 2 1/2 hour dinner. Was a wonderful place to enjoy the company we were in and to have outstanding and delicious food provided by a very friendly staff. Thank you! Highly recommend the sea bass!

   Our guests raved about the food. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were huge. The service and the ambiance were also great. We will certainly go back.

   Always a consistent excellent option in Midtown East. A nice diverse menu with Italian classics that goes beyond "red sauce"options. Food and service is top notch and why a choice I consider when entertaining. In addition I needed a restaurant w/ a quiet atmosphere as multiple guests in the party have hearing loss and/or have hearing aids. Thus Il Monello is a great option as the restaurant skews towards fine dining yet casual. While not library quiet it still allows conversation at a normal volume even as a large table for 6. A neighborhood gem that should be sought out.

    This is a lovely neighborhood restaurant that is very aware of the value of maintaining high standards in quality of food and especially in service. Wonderful selection of varied appetizers and pasta as well as interesting nightly specials.
