Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; house made pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and house made soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch.

    We have been here numerous times as the food, staff and views have always been amazing. Not this night. While the staff was incredible, the food was absolutely below their standard this time. My calabrese pizza tasted like shrimp when there is no seafood and the cheesecake was lukewarm and tasted very musty. $457 for my daughters birthday and it was very disappointing

    The wait staff was a little late clearing wine glasses and plates & in offering bread - for a party of 4 and we were there at 4 pm opening. There was no lemon or sauces on the shrimp, scallops & fish dish. Expected better for $250…

    A nice dining experience with just average food. The service was good but was not attentive (we had to wait on several requests , water, bar service). The view of the Bay was a nice treat.

    The start of the service wasn’t great. We were seated and no one came to our table for at least 20 minutes. After that our server was great as was the food. Everything came out timely, wine selection was good and all entrees were excellent.

    One of the worst meals and experiences I have had in a long time. Hostess seated us at outside table where bench was so low you needed a high chair to sit to eat. When we asked for a table w/ 4 chairs she initially refused because she did not want “impose on anyone to clean the table.” 😳 My food was horrible - overcooked pasta in what tasted like jarred sauce. My meal was cold. When I told server and asked for warm food, it came back after it had clearly been put in microwave and was scalding hot. A view is wonderful, but if food is horrible and service is bad, what’s the point? Do not eat here

    The service in the kitchen was too slow ! It took us forever to get our main course ! Our table was so small and crowded for 7 people. Our waitress was so nice !!
