Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal.     Really fantastic high quality food. Service was incredibly slow, although very professional, it just didn't time out properly . The veal was delicious

    Service was slow and fragmented. All the mains came at different times. Same for cocktail orders. Brought guests there and were disappointed.

    Great meal at Il Corso tonight. Had the grilled calamari and a perfectly cooked pizza. Service was prompt and professional. Very nice night.

    We really enjoyed the service and meal. Our only issue was waiting 40 minutes for our table when we had a reservation. It must have been a short handed night since several parties were in the same situation.

    The hostess was very sympathetic to our need for a rather quiet table & showed us around so we could pick the right one for my husband’s hearing isssue. The wait staff were all attentive and unintrusive. Beat of all, the menu was wonderfully varied and we thoroughly enjoyed each course. They even had an option for grilled versus fried calamari. The wines list by the glass was exceptional too. This restaurant tucked all the boxes for us; as usual Il Corso is a great experience from start to finish!
