   I should have stuck with the salmon. The Fish tacos were very salty. The pork belly could have been more tender. I will try again.

   I get it—you go out for Valentine's Day, and the food isn’t going to be great. But why tell us we have a time limit beforehand, especially with a slow kitchen, and then make us feel rushed?

   First thing when we came in a very young host told us to limit our dinner to 1 1/2 hours because they were busy. Definitely needs some people skills. Strike 1. We ordered drinks and Bruce’s old fashioned glass was brought to the table very sticky. It was like the bartender spilled liquor on it and didn’t even care. We had seen their menu and my significant other was looking forward to prime rib. We were told there was a mistake in the posted menu. Strike 2. Service was just okay. Didn’t see anyone actually overseeing the staff. Everyone was just running around. When it came time for dessert, another mistake on the menu, no Limoncello cake. Definitely Strike 3. We realize it is a special holiday but they really did not need the table free in 1 1/2 hours. All in all, we were really surprised by the restaurant. It had been about a year since we had been there but always had a great culinary experience. After spending almost $250 it certainly was not worth it at all. We were very disappointed.

   The short rib is the best we have ever tasted. We have always been fans of ideal tavern, but the waiter Michel steered us in the right direction. The short rib was so tender along with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots cooked to perfection.

    1st time goi g to Ideal Tavern. Food and drinks were awesome. One special for the night was blackberry bourbon barbecue wings. Amazing!! Will definitely be going back again.
