I Carusi II is a hidden little St Kilda gem. Open since 2004, it has first provided some of the best Napolitan pizzas in Melbourne. It has grown over the years and is becoming the friendly unpretentious neighbourhood restaurant that is missing in St Kilda and the bayside. I Carusi II still offers its legendary pizzas but the menu now offers many other Italian favourites, with a function area for up to 25 people, home delivery and daily seasonal specials. Open 7 nights a week.

Rating: 3/5 This was our third visit, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations this time. The tables inside are very close together, making it challenging to walk through comfortably and limiting privacy. It may be worth considering a bit more spacing to allow for a more comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. We were initially directed by the staff to use QR codes to access the menu, although we noticed that other tables nearby were given physical menus. This seemed inconsistent, especially since we were dining inside. For many guests, myself included, having a physical menu is an important part of the dining experience, so we appreciated receiving one after requesting it. Our table was also quite small, making it difficult to accommodate even standard items like our water bottle. Adding extra space or providing slightly larger tables for two would enhance comfort, particularly for guests who wish to order multiple dishes. As for the food, we found it to be a bit lacking in flavor, and our pizza was overcooked and not as hot as we would have liked, despite the venue not being very busy at the time. We hope that the kitchen can take extra care with temperature and cooking consistency in the future.

Delicious food and a cozy atmosphere! The carbonara was exquisite, and both the tiramisu and panna cotta were amazing. Great service too!
