   Fabulous meal with wonderful service. Every item we ordered was delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Hope to get back soon

   Every time I've eaten at the Hydra I've experienced the best customer service and food selections. The space has such lovely ambience--I would highly recommend visiting to anyone, but a big shout out to the team for making solo dining experiences really enjoyable.

   “Excellent food as always and exceptional service. Thomas and the team clearly take pride in delivering outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended, especially when entertaining clients, as they ensure you look good. Their ability to curate a ‘surprise us’ menu is impressive—reasonable yet consistently exceptional.    The food was not as excellent as expected. The grilled octopus was slightly raw in the thicker parts. The tuna tartar was fresh but sauce was very heavy. The server provided average service, water was not refilled, got the wrong drink for our table, but when I tipped him 15% instead of the recommended 18%, he stopped talking to us altogether. He cleared the table in slience and when I said “thank you” there was absolutely no response. Noisy in certain parts of the restaurant, much quieter in the rooms, but generally an upbeat place for gatherings.

   The waitress was impatient when we still need time to order. The manager was nice and helpful, giving us suggestions on the choices. The oyster was fine and fresh. The octopus was great! The salmon was very soft.

   Hydra is one of the top rank Mediterranean fine dining in Vancouver. Located in Exchange Hotel first and second floor, one of the historical building in Vancouver. We ordered whole seabass in salt and crab stuffed lobster tail with saffron risotto. The seabass is 2lbs with two big bowls of kale, bell pepper and zucchini. More than enough for 2 people. We also tried the lobster tail risotto. It looks good in presentation but the risotto is a bit lack of favor. It would have be a 5 star if the risotto is better. Overall great experience and this restaurant is great for large parties. They have a lot of large platter for 4-6 people to share. A little bit on the expensive side overall. Keep in mind, you get 10% discount if you live in the hotel!

   Delicious family style lunch with great service! Initially quite loud and busy but we outlasted the other tables and it became more quiet.

   Hydra is one of my 3 favourite restaurants in Vancouver. It never disappoints. This time we had the Hydra platter with lamb chops... perfectly done (medium, as the chef recommends) and deliciously spiced, as were the veggies. There were enough chops to take some home. We have had the chicken platter (also large portions), and next time we are looking forward to the Souvlaki platter which looks so good! Great service too.
