Chef Jung was recruited by General Manager Suhum Jang, her lifelong friend and classmate from the Culinary Institute of America. Together, they have elevated the dining experience at HORTUS, showcasing creative dishes that blend tradition with a contemporary flair. The newly revamped menu, launched in October, further highlights Korean flavors in a modern, approachable style.

Guests can also enjoy live jazz performances every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7 PM to 10 PM without any cover charge, creating a perfect pairing of world-class cuisine and live music.

It’s my second time here, and got to sit in the back patio area with a strong heater, it was super cozy! The food is very flavorful, I had the cod and my mom had truffle donabe, we were celebrating her bday. I also tried the short rib too and abalone donabe, everything was so fresh and delicious! The panna cotta raspberry and green tea tiramisu were great, appreciate the wonderful staff!

I remember coming to Hortus a year ago and enjoyed my dinner experience with good ambience and service. So I brought my team dinner here, but I’m disappointed with my experience this time! First, when I called to make the reservation during business hours, no one picks up the phone. Eventually someone called me back, but had an impatient attitude, very short with answers, like she didn’t care whether we dine there. On the day of the dinner, when we entered the restaurant, the lobby is extremely smoky as if the kitchen is on fire or like the Korean BBQ place with bad ventilation. We sat at the enclosed terrace on second floor, the smoke is also pretty bad that we had to open the roof window, but it’s very cold, so we all had to wear jacket. Needless to say, the temperature was not comfortable because of the smoke situation. Also I ordered the steak, and got a stomachache later that night. I don’t know if it’s because the steak is undercooked (cuz the rest of my meals are fully cooked dishes). Overall, I was not happy with my experience this time. Will not return

Overall it was a great evening for our business dinner at Hortus. Cozy and ambient atmosphere was very welcoming right from the time we arrived there. Friendly staffs and delicious food made our dining an enjoyable experience. Shoutout to the quality of well crafted dishes (starters to main to desserts) and the services we received with reasonable prices. I would definitely like to visit there soon and recommend others to try this place as well. Huge thanks to team Hortus for making it such a memorable night for us.

My wife and I happed to be in the city and wanted to get dinner after a broadway show. We went to Hortus ONLY to be underwhelmed my the menu and overall service. * We found ourselves in debate to stay or pivot. We ended up getting some apps and heading for the exit. At the end we felt the hospitality was largely lacking and menu poorly presented. I would never go back and don't expect the restaurant to make it past a year unless they have a major turn around in the areas highlighted.
