It purports to be some award winning seafood restaurant, but at 6:45 on a Sunday they were out of at least half a dozen items on the menu. Really nothing more than an expensive sports bar.

I was a little disappointed that this restaurant does not have any gluten or dairy options. The food we ordered was good. The person that needed to have options was not real happy. Would love to say we’d come back because the food was good, but unfortunately, we will not because of their non-gluten non-dairy options.

We saw this place advertised on Instagram and made a reservation for Valentine's Day for four of us. I wasn't sure from the photos, but it is sit-down, and they have booths. The service was excellent. The food is like seafood comfort food--heavy on the lobster mac and cheese, fish and chips, seafood alfredo type of thing as opposed to the King's Fish House type of fare. Their octopus appetizer was excellently prepared. Quite tender. The lobster deviled eggs were good as were the calamari fries. If you like lighter food, they have oysters, poke, and cioppino. They also offer sides of sauteed vegetables. Two at our table ordered the tempura fish and chips. I prefer a little less batter, but and my husband liked it. We did not get their signature lobster roll as it looked bready and a little greasy (melted butter) but everyone around us ordered them. I might try one next time.

Hook and Anchor had a very comfortable atmosphere (not pretentious) with some appointments that elevated the dining area. The food was very good. My wife and I had the lobster roll and the seafood risotto. Both dishes were delicious, full of flavor and a good-size portion. The lobster deviled eggs were beautiful to look at but very delicate in flavor. Our server was very attentive to us and seemed to care about us having a good time. We’ll be back. The only real downside is they don’t take American Express.

Unreal! Big fat buttery Lobster roll. Roll.was pure buttery perfection! They warm the los Bster meat in butter and serve this butter on the side for wilding the lily. Off the charts fresh local free range (ha) Halibut. One dessert which was excellent so they can focus on what they do best..Lobster, oysters, fresh fish! Bomb Diggity!

I took my hubby here for his bday and he loved the ambiance. Staff were great and attentive! The food was amazing, I had the filet mignon and was cooked perfectly and so yummy. My hubby had to try their famous lobster roll and lobster bisque and it lived up to its celebrity status!!

The food is as great, fresh, well prepared and not “pretentious”The staff very welcoming, yet professional. The staff worked as a cohesive unit to make our experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend everyone go! My only other comment would be for the decorator to change out the lighting in the dining room to a “warmer light” and tone down the light that illuminates the “Hook and Anchor sign” in the oyster bar area.

Overall the experience was fine. Lots of opportunities. We ordered the New York steak, the carbonara. Shrimp cocktail and cioppino. Flavors great. Steps of service missing. Close to 5 minutes before order was taken, no dish to discard your shells from the cioppino, no butter served with the bread, no horseradish served with the shrimp cocktail. Also portion of cocktail sauce wasn't enough for 6 shrimp.
