Amazing time at Hinnies. Despite it being a fairly last minute booking it never felt too loud or busy. The service was fantastic and food all delicious (great portion sizes too, left feeling full but not uncomfortable!) Will definitely be back soon.

It’s been a while since we have been. The set menu they are offering at the moment to the 9th March is great. We found this good value for evening at £26 for 2 courses or £31 for 3. A good amount of choices for all 3 courses and the food was delicious. Very good for gluten free. We found the service excellent and the restaurant was buzzing as it was full (Saturday night) the only negative would be my husband likes a pint but they only serve in schooners which is two thirds of a pint but still charging£5.20, which is expensive compared to pints at other local establishments. I drink non alcoholic beer but only one choice so another choice would have been good. Overall though a great meal so will be back.

We booked a table for two on a Thursday evening and were a little surprised at how quiet it was. Just six other diners and us two. Marnie, the waitress, couldn't have been more attentive, courteous and hhelpful. We ordered three courses for £31 which, on the whole, provided good value for money. My son had the haggis egg, fish of the day, and the banana creme brulee. He really enjoyed his starter and main, but the banana in the creme brulee totally changed the consistency to something more like porridge - not a fan unfortunately! I had the truffle mushroom soup, fish of the day and sticky toffee pudding. The soup would have been amazing had it been served in a warmed bowl, but it was really cold and made the soup luke warm. The fish was fabulous, but the sticky toffee pudding had a burnt taste to it and sickly sweet sauce with no hint of salted caramel. In summary, it could have been really great, but little things let the restaurant down. Whilst it was quiet, music was playing at the right level, which we enjoyed. The wine we had was perfect - a Sauvignon Blanc at £35. Not sure if we will return, but hopefully these comments will help.

Not terribly warm, but it was a freezing night. Some items sold out. Staff were pretty good, however one was chewing gum. Food very tasty and timing of order and food served spot on. Good wine n beer menu. Really good value . Bill was wrong, corrected straight away with comment about them being busy.

Food poor - fish overcooked and small. Restaurant was cold and the ambience awful as the staff were cleaning and setting up for a late sitting. Set menu seemed good value but the quality of the dishes was below average.
